Acquapura personal water filter Review

What is included when ordering this water filter system. It comes with the filter tube, filter cap, 5 extra filters, back wash tube for cleaning, and an instructions manual. This unit is made to help clean water you may be drinking to reduce the chance of harmful elements in the water.


For starters this is about the size of a small flashlight. It only weights a few ounces so it is not going to add any real weight to your pack. It is made from a hard plastic so it will also be able to take dropping and banging around in a back pack. This fitler also has a shelf life of 3 years or 1500L of water filtered. To me it is more of an emergency type of filter system if you are out and lost in the woods. Having such a long shelf life makes it handy for more then a one trip and done system. This is also a must have for the doomsdayers for filtering water if that day were to arrive.


This filter system has a 3 stage filter process. These are UF Membrane, carbon filter, and a pre-filter. The extra filters provided with this are for the pre-filter. This set of filters help stop things like Colibacillus, Legionell, heavy metals, organic contaminants, and many other things. The filter is super easy to use, all you have to do is stick the inlet part down in the water and pop the top off where the mouth piece area is at and start drinking the water through the filter much like a straw. It does take a little more then a straw for suction because it is coming through some filters. It is more like drinking a shake as far as the pull needed to bring the water through it. The cap that cover the mouth piece area snaps on really tight so be prepared for that. It is nice that the cap does fit on that tight to help prevent the mouth piece from getting dirty.


When it comes to cleaning the filter system I suggest reading over the instructions fully. It is not a difficult process by any means. However if you do not use the proper cleaning methods it can ruin the system. The filter does come with a one year warranty from the date of purchase.
I see this being an important addition to anyone that does a lot off camping, hiking, fishing, treking, military personell out on ops, or any other long term outdoor adventure. If you are or have an adventurer in your life this is a must have. Nothing is more important then having clean drinking water out on survival trips. So if you are in the market for a portable water filtration system that has a long shelf life, I recommend picking up one of these AcquaPura systems. 4pk Eggrings Review

These are the perfect moring helper when it comes to cooking eggs. Upon ordering these eggrings there were four in the pack. The eggrings come in almost any color you can imagine. Mine are red in color.


I have been able to make almost perfectly round cooked eggs like McDonalds has for their breakfast sandwiches. It is super easy to use these eggrings. The rings have two offset sides to them. Putting the larger side of the offset towards the cooking surface seems to work the best for me. It makes it simple to prepare your eggs at many different textures for your liking. I have prepared mine over easy, over medium, and over hard. It would be very easy to prepare the eggs sunny side up if that is your style.


These rings are food grade silicon and are non stick for the most part. I did get a little bit of sticking from my eggs on the rings. It was a simple fix with a little bit of Pam Spray. I am not sure if it is the fact that I am using farm fresh eggs over the ones purchsed in the store. These eggrings also have upright posts to lift the rings with after you have them formed to your liking. One of my favorite ways to prepare my eggs with these rings envolves putting some onion and mushrooms in the ring to start with and caramlize them. Next I add in my egg and let it setup all around the edge. Once it is set up around the edges I add in some shredded cheese and turm my egg over. I finish on that side and put it on my plate and cover it with some Pace. You can add so many other things to your eggs like peppers, ham, bacon, or even sausage. In other words these are great for anyone who struggles making omelets.

Holdee Eyeglass Holder Review

This is a fairly neat idea. It does work for having a specific place to store a small item or two. It is not as durable as I had hoped, but if you are using it for glasses it really does not have to be able to with stand a great amount. Currently it is available it two colors: cobalt blue and marsala red.


This holder has a felt inside liner that will help keep your lenses clean as well. The outside has a cloth coating that is somewhat soft to the touch. The bottom also has felt on it to make it where it does not slide around easy. The stand that this is wrapped in feels like cardboard or really bendable plastic. This is the part that does not feel very durable but it is designed to store your glasses in so you do not lose them. Therefore the holder does not need to be able to hold its stucture under a bowling ball or something like that!


Personally I use it to keep my remote control to my television in. I have never had a problem with losing my glasses, but that remote control can be tricksie for sure. It works great for most standard and universal remotes. Now it is not going to work if you have one of the huge LCD screen remotes simply because it is not that big of a holder. This could be used for many other things other then glasses. I could see it being used as a tie clip holder, watch holder, or a place great place to put your keys in so they are not lost.

Folgers Flavors™ Coffee Enhancers

I was sent 4 flavors of coffee enhancers to try out. These are from Folgers and do a very good job of adding a twist to your coffee routine. I was sent Mocha, Hazlenut, Vanilla, and Caramel.


In all I was sent 12 bottles, 3 of each flavor. I kept one set to try out and handed out the other bottles to my friends. Most of them are hessitant to adding things to their coffee but were willing to give it a shot. Out of all the flavors the Mocha got the lowest response on likes. The Vanilla won the top slot for the favorites of most.


I like to add it to my coffee on the days I need a strong cup to get me moving. It helps to reduce the bitterness of a strong cup of coffee for me. I am not a fan of bitterness for the most part so these are great for me. So if you are looking for an new and interesting twist to your coffee routine this will do a great job in switching it up.

Elegana Ceramic Knives Review

Upon ordering this set of knives it came with the knives, a microfiber cleaning tab, a potato peeler, sheaths for the knives, and a box to keep them stored in. These knives are more light weight then your typical stainless steel knives. All of these tools in this box that have an edge, has a really sharp edge.


The knives are:

multi-purpose cermic peeler


These knivess are amazingly sharp. My mother has used a dull knife for 20 years and tried one of these knives out. She was not used to a sharp knife and how easily it moves through while cutting so she ended up knicking her fingers like 4 times in the first minute. I was laughing at her because it was sharp enough that it was painless to the knicks to her fingers and this was mom who has prepared food for years looking like a rookie. If you are not used to sharp knives they take a little bit to get used to. Once you are used them you will never go back to using dull knives again because it is so much easier on the hands and to get things accomplished.
The knives do not have the old steel bolts through them that always hold germs. The handles are silicone so they are molded to the blades to there is no germs held under the handles either. With the handles being silicone and the blades being ceramic they are about 1/3 of the weight of the normal knives made with steel.


This knife set also comes with silicone sleeves to put each of the knives in. This works great for those that do not want to keep them in the box they were sent in. If they are put in the drawer with the sleeves on them you do not have to worry about losing a finger digging in the drawer. It is very easy to slide the knives in and out of these sleeves. You can put the knives in the sleeve with little danger to your hand if you hold the sleeve at the far pointed in opposite the knife entrance. The sleeve is firm enough that you can hold it there and insert the blade. The sleeves are also vented so if they knives are a little wet after washing they do not hold the moisture and cause mold.


Next is the peeler. This thing is a monster at peeling. Make sure to be careful and not catch your fingers with it as you are peeling. It is super easy to get small cuts from this if you are not careful with the blades on this peeler. I have used this to peel all kinds of things including potatoes, squash, and apples to name a few.





This set also comes with a micro fiber towel for cleaning the knives. This works great after you wash them for drying. It will remove almost all of the water if not all of it. This also helps prevent the chance of molding. Since these knives are ceramic and the handles are silicone they are most likely dishwasher safe as well.


If you are in the market for a great set of knives this is a collection you will need to consider. They are extremely sharp, come with protective sheaths, and help protect agains germs.
