LED Lantern Review

This is a micro lantern from Galaactic Lighting. It is powered by 3 AA batteries. The lantern is a bright LED light source. It is very light weight at less then 1/2 a pound in weight. The housing of the lantern is made out of plastic which makes it light.

The lantern is very small and compact. It is about 6 inches tall and a little bigger then a 20 oz. coke bottle in diameter. The entire housing of the lantern is made from plastic that is not very thick or durable. This is designed to be set up and used for light and not be banged around inside your bags. The lift handle of the lantern is a very nice addition to it making it easy to carry as you are using it. The handle is very flimsy though and would be very easy to break if you are not careful. The area around where the light emits and the base where the batteries go in are made of a much stronger plastic.

The light that this lanter puts out is very good for areas where there is limited or no lighting. It is not designed to be a flood light or any other high powered light. It is for creating enough light to be able to accomplish small tasks. For instance I have used it fishing when I was trying to bait my hook, moving spots, and lighting my path in and out of camp as needed. This micro lantern puts off about 2/3 of what a normal kerosene lantern would without the worries of it getting knocked over and starting a fire or the accidently touches that burn you. The lantern is also about 1/4 the size of a typical lantern so it does save space. Since it runs off of 3 AA batteries there is not need to lug around a can of fuel for it either.

At the bottom of the lantern there is a twist off plate/cover that exposes the battery box. It twists on much like the lid of a pickle jar. When I twist on this cover I always here the rest of the lantern creeking in my hands is why I say it is not super durable. The lantern is not a water tight or resistant. However as long as it is not submerged or in a heavy rain storm it should withstand a good portion of it since it is made mostly of plastic. If you getting rained on make sure the base it not going to get filled with water and should be good.

Lastly the knob to turn the lantern on and off. It is very easy to find and use. Even in a completely dark room, if you were handed this lantern you could find the knob to turn it on.  It works much like the knob of your normal car stereo, turn it to the right turns it on and the further you turn it the brighter it gets. Turn it to the left and it clicks to an off position.

If you are looking for a very lightweight light source for when you are out and about this is not a bad choice to consider. It is light weight enough to hang from the inside of a tent when you are out camping. Good enough to light your path after dark so the pot holes do not sneak up on you. I would like to thank Soloneer Ltd for sending me this LED Lantern to try out and share my opinion.

Birds-I-View Review

This is a see through plastic bird feeder that attaches to windows or other smooth surfaces. When I orded this bird feeder from Nature Anywhere it came with the house, slide out feed tray, 3 suction cups, and a booklet.

The feeder is made from a fairly durable plastic so it will not break easily. The slide out tray is very rigid and strong which is great since I have dropped it about a dozen times already. The plastic is see through so it has high visiblity of all that is going on inside the house. This makes it great for being able to watch your feathered friends and make sure they are not out of food.

The feed tray slides in and out of the bottom of the house. It can be kind of sticky going in because it is fairly tight fitting. The tray has a divider in the middle for putting in two different types of feed if you choose too. The trays aslo has very small pin holes in the bottom of it so rain water can drain from the tray and not wash the food away. These pin holes do get plugged quickly so you will need to spray it clean often.

Setting up the feeder is super easy. First thing I did after taking it out of the box and read the instruction given on best placement for the feeder. From there I put the 3 suction cups in the slide tab slots on the back of the feeder. I inserted the feed tray into the feeder. From there I took it out side with my windex and paper towels. I washed the window very well to make sure there was a nice clean suction surface for the cups. Next I placed it the window and pressed the suction cup tabs from inside the feeder towards the window. From there I went to the store and picked up a small back of bird feed, since all I had was hummingbird feed. I placed some food in the tray and it was complete.

They say in the book that it can take birds up to 5 weeks to trust a new feeder. That was not the case with my feeder experience. When I got back from the store there was already a bird sitting in it with out any feed in it! I put the feed in there and it took the bird a couple of hours to make its way to the feeder again since it was scared off when I went to put feed in it. If you are having issues with being able to watch your birds then you can use a webcam mounted to view out the window and close the blind and the motions in the house will not scare the birds off and you can watch them on your computer.

If you are looking for a way to be a little closer to nature without disturbing it, this bird house feeder is most certainly what you are looking for. It is durable, easy to install, and easy to clean. I would like to thank Nature Anywhere and affiliates for sending me this bird feeder to try out and share my opinion.

ALLreLi 2 in 1 Stylus Review

This is a stylus for your touch screen devices that also doubles as an ink pen. It comes in 3 different colors: white, silver, and black. It is very compact for easy storage with your touch screen cases without stretching the bindings.

The Stylus pen is about an inch shorter then a normal pen. The diameter is about the same size as a Bic pen. The stylus part for the touch screens is made of a fairly soft rubber. This is great to insure less damage to the screen but I am not sure about the life of the rubber itself. I have been using mine for almost a month now and I do not see any signs of wear and tear of the rubber at this time.

Next is the pen part of the stylus. It has a pop off cap at the opposite end where the rubber stylus. This cap so far is a very tight fitting cap that can actually be difficult to pull off. I like that because it makes it a lot less likely to be lost. Once you have the cap covering the pen off there is a twist off insert where you can refill the ink cartridge of the pen.

The pocket clip for the stylus I think is the only weak point to this unit. It seems to be fairly flimsy and made with a thin sheet of metal. Of course this is usually the weakest part of almost any pen, so keep that in mind.

The stylus pen only weights a few ounces. It has a very slim and sleek appearance that will draw some attention. I have had a few of my friends ask me about this stylus because it is stylish and compact. So if you are looking for a stylus for your touch screens and would like that added luxury of a pen included this will be a great product to consider. I would like to thank ALLreLi Technology and affiliates for sending me this 2 in 1 stylus pen to try out and share my opinion.

Portable High Speed Charger Review

This is a really good backup charger to have around. It offers 2 charging ports, a flashlight, and multiple chargers to a cell phone. When ordering this charger it comes with the charger, instructions manual, and a micro USB to USB charging cord.

This charger offers two charging speeds to your devices. It has 2 ports on the side, one is a 1A output the other is a 2.1A output. I have used this to recharge my bluetooth ear buds, 3 different cell phones, and my tablet. I usually get 4 full charges for my cell phone, 6 for my ear buds, and 2 for my tablet. These recharges are not super fast since most devices charge at 5A so it takes about 2x as long but when you are in a place without power to recharge your devices this thing is a life saver.

On the top of the unit there are 4 indicator lights to show how much charge is left. To recharge this back up is super simple and recharges from multiple sources. It can virtually charge from any USB port. I tried it out on my laptop, desktop, wall mount USB port, and the lighter plug in my car. This is designed to recharge just about any device that uses a Micro USB charging port. I have not found anything using the Micro USB port that has not accepted charging from this unit.

The one other feature that this charger offers is an LED light source. To turn the light on and off you hold down on the power button until the light goes on or off. It is fairly bright and works great on those nights you forget to leave the porch light on so you can see to put the key in the lock. The light is actually extremely bright and could be used as a flashlight as well if need be to light your path.

If you are looking for a really strong battery backup to charge your devices, I recommend checking out this one. I would like to thank Gnome Workshop and affiliates for sending me this charger to try out and share my opinion.

Emergency light Review

The product description of this light is an emergency light. To me it is more of a utility light. It is not the brightest light you can find but if you are without light it is great to have around. It has a nice hook area so it can be hung inside of a tent to light up the night for you. It is also very light weight and fairly durable being made with a semi strong plastic housing.

I put this thing through some tests to see what all it can be powered by. I attached it to my laptop, desktop, backup battery charger, wall mount USB charging port, and a lighter socket in my car. The light came on without fail in each and every charge port. This light comes with a decent length of cord about 5 feet. On this cord there is an on/off toggle so you do not have to keep plugging and unplugging the light.

When it comes to how bright of a light this puts out, it is equal to a 40W bulb. It is not extremely bright but if you are out camping and it is your only light source in a tent it is great. I personally got to test it when my battery cable got lose on my car one night. My car died and I went to lift the hood of the car and no light came on because of the lose of connection. I used my emergency light hooked to my backup battery charger and hung it from the hood. I was able to see clearly and look around to see what the issue was. I then attached the battery cable as best I could since it was having real issues, but I was able to make it to the store. From there I got a new termenal end and replaced it using my light.

If you are looking for a portable and handy utility light or emergency light source, this can most certainly fit the bill. I would like to thank Mc and affiliates for sending me this light to try out and share my opinion.
