Tactical Flashlight Review

This is a solid flashlight, built for durability. It uses an LED light with zoom ability. This flashlight is very lightweight and compact its size. There are 2 of lights available on the page link below. Upon ordering this flashlight it came with a plastic housing if you want to use a rechargeable battery.


The flashlight can be powered by 3 batteries or a rechargeable battery. It has a slide in sleeve for which type you want to use. The batteries are very simple to install.


The flashlight is made with a metal housing to increase durability. I have dropped it a few times and it seems to have done no damage to the flashlight other then scratches from the impact. I do not recommend abusing it for no reason but it is built to withstand some abuse. The battery housing compartment has a rubber O-ring in the base to help with water resistance. It is designed for use in rainy weather and the likes. The light is not rated for being submerged for any length of time or it can cause damage.


This light offers 3 light settings as well. There is a low, high, and strobe. These stages are gone through with the power button. Pressing the button once turn the light on in bright mode. Pressing the button again turns the light off. Pressing the button again puts the light on low torch setting. Pressing the button again turns off the light. Lastly pressing the power button again brings it to strobe mode. Again hitting the power button one more time turns the light off again.


Now we come to the zoom part of the flashlight. This is a slide out action to change the size and brightness of the torch light. The futher out you put the slide action the more refined the light becomes. There is a small guage on the side of the light giving an estimation of the power at about 15 feet. This slide action is fairly simple to move back and forth.


If you are looking for a decent flashlight that is compact enough to carry in your pocket with a decently bright torch this is one you should consider. It offers 3 light settings, metal housing, a carry strap, and the torch can be zoomed as needed. The Hunger (E-Book) Review

This is a science fiction/fantasy realm book from author Michael D. Young. This is a relatively short store at a little under 300 pages on my reader. Currently this is only available for readers but I am sure that will change shortly after the book gets out to the world.


The story is set in a mystical world full of dangerous obstacles that Azil must deal with and avoid. The world is put together well and gives you a complete understanding of the world. However as well as it was depicted it was lacking something to draw me into the story completly. The characters are developed well and you will have a good understanding through out the book. This story line does flow really smooth on transitions through out the book.


The author offers a great story and creates a nice set of characters. You can tell that he is not a seasoned author at this time with his writting, but there is a lot of potential. I think the author will eventually put out best sellers and for starting out has a lot to look forward too.


If you are looking for a fantasy -  sci-fi story this is one author to check out. His book has a great start on becoming a series if that is how he wants it to go. I would like to thank Future House Publishing and affiliates for sending me this book to read and share my opinion.

3-piece Utensil Set Review

This is a set of 3 Epicurean kitchen utensils. These sets come in 3 choices of natural, nutmeg, and slate for you design preference. The 3 tools are: Angled Turner, Large Spoon, and a Small Spoon.


The best thing about these tools are the ability to grab them without transferring the heat from your stove to your hand. If you leave it laying in the pot for a minute while you are adding spices or the likes it does not burn your hand.


These utensils are strong enough to use as mixing without worrying if they are going to break. This utensil set is built to be very sturdy. I would not try lifing a house or car with them but they can be used to push pans across burners if need be and mixing tough things like cookie dough. This set is also dishwasher safe so that is proof that they can take the heat.


If you like wooden spoons, this is a set that makes it really difficult to tell the difference and a great pick up for what you get. Escape the Room Stargazer's Manor Review

To say the least this is a very fun game. It requires logic and at least 3 players. The instructions say 3 to 8 players. We had 4 in our group playing. There a lot of bonuses to this game as well and how into the game you get it completely up to your groups imagination.


To start with you can go online to get music to help set the games atmosphere. Once completed there are also instructions to repack the box so the game plays out correctly for the next round of players.
The game does take logic to complete the scenario. We were able to play with my 13 year old niece without any issues. It took us about 55 minutes to play the game out. It took about 15 minutes to repack after double checking to have it set up for the next adventure. This falls directly in line with the latest fad of people wanting to be trapped in a room and escape without having to be physically in the room.

Ailihen I35 Headphones Review

To begin with this is labeled as a kids set of headphones. These headphones come in an array of colors ranging from pink, blue, black, and orange to mention a few.


The sound quality is maybe average but that can be expected for an inexpensive set of headphones. The headphones do offer a full range of sound. The bass is not very distinct but it is there none the less. The sound does come through crisp and clear to about 70% of the volume before it starts to distort. If you are picking these up for a child I do not expect them to last long because almost every kid plays the music as loud as possible.


The next feature of the mic that is included. It does offer a 360 radius. I tried these out on my mumble channel. I was heard clearly by everyone in the chat. There was not reverb or crackling noises. I did have to speak up a little bit, but I am typically a soft spoken person so that is the normal for me and headset mics.


The ear pads are semi soft. The material they are made from did start to make my ear area start to sweat some. They are soft enough to be comfortable to wear for extended periods of time as well. Across the top bar of the headphones there is also a padded portion. This is a great feature for any set of headphones. It makes slipping them on/off much easier and when you bang into something it does not feel like you have ripped off the top part of your head.


If your are looking for a beginners set of headphones with a mic this is a set you might want to consider. They are inexpensive, come in an assortment of colors, and comfortable to wear for extended lengths of time. Portable Stereo Turntable Review

This is a nice turntable to bring back the vinyl records you may have around the house. It will play all 3 speeds needed for any record. It has built in speakers below the turntable. It is compact and portable. If the blue case is not to your liking they have a few other options to choose from.


To start with the three speeds this will play are 33 / 45 / 78 RPMs. This covers almost every speed I know of that can be used for reconds. The arm and needle seem to be on the softer side and that has good and bad qualities.


Now when you are playing the turntable you can select for the arm to stop once the record has completed. I do this because it does not set in the middle jumping if I am not able to get there quickly. In the instructions it says that this may not work on a few records. I have had no instances with any of my records regardless of the speed being played.


Next we come to the built in speakers. These are not very good speakers at all. They are low in volume when at max. The sound quality of the speakers are at best average. However this is not an issue since it offers jacks to plug in external speakers or headphones.


The case that this turntable comes in is nice. It is a wooden case with a simple covering. The handle on the front of the case is not the best to look at when you are showing off your vinyl toy but it can be over looked. The over all size is roughly a briefcase size. This makes a nice compact turntable. This turntable comes in at about 6 pounds which makes it very easy to move around as needed.


The best thing about this turntable would be the ability to move it easily so I can listen to my old records that have been doing nothing for several years. I have noticed when I do have it out and company is over, everyone asks about it. So it is a great way to get conversations going and rehashing old memories. For those that are stuck on the vintage look this can be an addition to the collection.

The turn table offers a refined vintage look, all 3 speeds, lightweight, and great for starting conversations. Knife Set Review

This is a set of four knives made with ceramic blades. The handles are designed to look like they are made from bamboo. These knives are extremely sharp, you have been warned. These knives are also very lightweight. In this set of four knives are:
1 6" Chef knife
1 5" Slicing knife
1 4" Fruit slicer
1 3" Fruit parer
and a cover for each knife.


To start with these knives have a very thin blade. With this you do not have the blade weight to drag through what you are prepairing. However the knives have a very sharp edge so it does not require a lot of pressure to make your cuts. This could become dangerous if the knives where to lose their edge because once you apply pressure it becomes more hazardous.


Sadly I got to test the durability of the blades on accident. I moved a pan around in the sink and it flipped the knife out of the sink and on to the floor. From there it took a tumble down the stairs to the outside concrete pad. Yes the world was against me that day and chance took over with having a nice day and my door open. Well to end this story the tip of my 6" chef's knife was broken on the impact on the concrete. The knife did survive the bounce off of the house floor.


When you purchase this set of knives they come with a cheap set of covers. I recommend going to the store and buying an inexpensive block to put them in. Along with a block remember these are not steel blades they are not made for every surface. You will need to use wood or a plastic cutting board to extend the edge on your blades. Do not use marble, steel, or other hard surfaces because it can damage the edge. Next do not use these to pry with because they will flex some and they will break. Also you should not cut frozen foods or meats that have bones in them if you are going to be hitting the bones while trimming.


Now the handles of these knives are made to look like bamboo. That is the extent of them being bamboo. They are in fact made from ABS plastic and not bamboo. If you are looking for a set of sharp knives that are very lightweight and extremely sharp this is a set you should consider. This is a very large watch. For the most part this watch is made from rubber silicone. The watch come with several functions for being so low priced.

The features I find most appealing are: Having a back lit LED screen makes the read out pop out at you. The watch casing and band being made from a rubber silicone. This means it can take a little bit of snagging before it will give and break unlike most watches. Lastly since it has a waterproof rating you can have it out at the lake with you while boating and not have to worry about it getting messed up. In the instructions it states Do Not Push Buttons while submerged.

Wireless DoorBell Kit Review

This is another one of those handy gadgets to have around the house. It offers a couple of useful functions that make it a fairly outstanding product. This product is very simple to install and set up.


First off I am going to start with the alarm mode of the doorbell. This is a motion detecting sensor to let you know when someone is approaching the door. This picks up motion for the most part about 5 feet away from the door. This is great to start towards the door before they even ring the bell. This is a nice on cutting down on your companies standing time.


Next the unit offers a small LED flashlight. This is not overly bright but in a dark room will help you traverse objects that may be in your path. This is also very nice in power outages as a light source as well.


The installation of the door bell is very simple. It comes with a small kit to help you install the device. There are some 3m sticky tapes you can use to hang the unit. This is great for begining installation but added some more permenant supports for the button. Now the unit comes with the small battery used for the push button and it is very easy to put in place. Now for the actual chime unit, I have not attached it to anything since this is a wireless unit. I usually keep it in the room I am in or going to be in. The instructions says that it has a range of 500ish feet of wireless distance. More then enough for almost any house.


Now we will cover the chime unit a bit. This requires 3 AA batteries that are not included with this kit. The unit comes with a large amount of chime options. There are 36 in total for chimes to choose from.


If you are looking for a new doorbell system and do not feel like running wires this is a unit you should consider. It offers a lot of options with a flashlight, multiple chimes, easy installation, a large wireless range, and motion detection. Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons Set Review

This is a set of 6 measuring spoons for many of your cooking needs. This set includes the 6 spoons, a scrapping device, and a d-ring holder. The sizes included in this set are:


1   Tablespoon
1/2 Tablespoon
1   Teaspoon
1/2 Teaspoon
1/4 Teaspoon
1/8 Teaspoon


To start off I would like to mention the 1/8 teaspoon. Most sets do not include this size and you have to purchase it in addition usually. Now for the spoons; they are made from stainless steel which means the are rust resistant, dishwasher safe, and extremely durable. These is not the thickest set of spoon handles on the market and the handles can bend fairly easy if you apply pressure. Most things used with these measurements do not require pressure so it is not really an issue.


Now for the added d-ring that is included with the set. It is pretty much useless other then to keep the spoons together if you have no other options. Personally I threw mine in the recycle bin and hung my spoons on a peg board. There is also a leveler/scrapper included. This can be used to level the spoon for a more accurate ingredient measurement.


If you are looking for an good set of measuring spoons for cooking and baking this is a set you may want to consider picking up. They are stainless steel, 6 sizes, and has a leveling tool. Memory Foam Cushion Review

This is a memory foam cushion designed to help with lumbar support. It comes with 2 covers, a gel cooling pad, and a carrying bag. At this time there are only 2 choices for colors on the lumbar supports that I can see so far and they are black and grey.


I will start with the covers. They are not to difficult to remove and chance out. It does take a small amount of work and stuffing to get the cushion in properly. These covers are washable which helps if you are in a hot environment. The zippers on the covers are not the strongest and the only part of this where I think could use some improvements.


Next there is a gel pad. This is designed to help creating heat between the cushion and the user. Most lumbar supports do not come with anything like this so typically the user ends up sweating alot.
The goal of a lumbar support is to help stop bad posture. For people that sit for long hours through out the day this is very key. People tend to slouch after sitting for long hours. This works well for anyone that sits at a desk, drives on long trips, or even for someone that may be physically impared and in a wheel chair.


At first using the lumbar support, it was very uncomfortable to me. I soon figured out this was simply because I was destroying my body with bad posture. Now that I have been using this for a few weeks my posture has improved. My back and shoulders are not hurting from long periods on sitting.


Since this is a product made from memory foam it springs back to the position it was designed to be in. This does make it more firm then most of the other units on the market for this form of support.


If you are looking for a cushion that offers great support to the lumbar area of the back for improving posture, reducing pain, and offers a gel pad to help prevent sweating, this is a cushion you should certainly consider.
