SM-165 Finger Pulse Oximeter Review

I was sent this pulse-ox to try out. It came with the unit, lanyard, carrying case, instructions manual, batteries, and a 1 year warranty. I am very happy to have this around the house. It makes it really easy to see if there is a problem with oxygen saturation in the blood. Very handy for anyone that has an asthmatic in the house, almost mandatory. Other uses include wearing while doing a very strenuous exercise routine. Lastly for anyone around that has heart issues this is great to make sure the pulse is not bouncing off of the roof.


This unit comes with bright color OLED display. What this means is it makes it really easy to read. The coolest part of this unit is the display rotation screen. To do this all that has to be done once you turn on the unit and put it on the finger, just hit the button again and it rotates the screen to make it easier to read.

Having this around in case of any emergency is great. Clip it on the finger and in a few seconds you can get the pulse rate and oxygen in the blood. Two very important features medical professionals must know upon assessment. Having these numbers ready and handy will speed up the process and save a little time in an emergency. Being able to monitor these numbers makes it easier to make an informed decision at your house on when to proceed in an emergency situation as well when it come so someone with asthma or heart problems. Zep Microwave Miracle

I was sent this on crowdtap to try out in the microwave. It did an okay job, but not near what I was expecting from it. It was not a simple and wipe the grime away. I was still required to put some elbow grease into it and a green scratch pad. Don't get me wrong though. The microwave was really bad off and I could see that it most definitely helped with cleaning.

As you can see it had  a pretty healthy build up on it. It is also a little bit different from a normal microwave since it is a convection.

As you can see it has gotten about 90% off of the stainless steel. It will require a third treatment to get it a lot closer to clean. It probably saved me a couple hours of scrubbing alone since it did help break down the stuck on gunk.

Mighty Wallet Review

At first I thought these wallets were going to be an outright joke. A paper wallet, come on, get real! Well to my surprise they are not so terrible, as a matter of fact they can be very useful. These are made from Tyvek, much like express mail packages are made from. This makes them water resistant (not water proof).  This wallet has 6 card slots and a area the length of the wallet for putting paper money in. These wallets are super light weight, very thin, and compact. These wallets come in many different designs and patterns.


My use of this wallet will be for days I am going out on the boat. That way if I sit down in a wet spot or get water splashed on me, it wont ruin my leather wallet. I will also be carrying this wallet when I go to amusement parks. There is always the log jam rides, and as long as I don't submerge or go jump in the pool with it. It should shed 99% of the water without the contents getting wet. It is perfect for small outings like that. There is enough room for drivers license, insurance card, credit card, discount card, and cash holdings. It is small enough and pliable enough to go in the front pocket, or even a shirt pocket.

MashPro Review

Well for starters, it is stainless steel so it is easy to clean. It is a combination potato smasher/ricer in one unit. This masher seems to be built extremely solid. I have had no issues with it in anyways as far as it durability goes. The masher has the regular part for you potatoes and then it has  a plate with holes in it for the ricer part. This is all on a spring loaded system that is fairly strong in resistance.


Personally I have used this to smash potatoes and bananas. Now for the potatoes I have done both skinned and potatoes with the peelings on it still. With out the skin it is super easy and melts through the potatoes with ease. Now if you plan to leave the skins on the potatoes it is not going to work as far as going through the ricer part to break it down really fine. This is made for mashing, not cutting. Now when it comes to the bananas in the recipe I use I had milk, applesauce, vanilla, and a few other items. The masher does a great job with mashing and pushing it through the ricer part. If you are doing this with a food like bananas be ready for it to have some suction between the masher plate and the bottom of the bowl until it is reduced to small pieces. It is not a strong suction but if you are not paying attention and move the smasher I could lift the bowl and drop it and make some mess.

Now for cleaning and care of this. It stays that it is dishwasher safe. I don't know if you would ever actually need to put in through a dishwasher since it is stainless steel. It only takes a steady stream of hot water to knock and melt all of the particles off of it. The handle on the masher is solid so you do not have to worry about it holding water if you do use it in the dishwasher.

Knife Sharpener Review

This is a two stage sharpener for your not serrated edge knives. The first stage of the sharpening tool is a coarse stone. The second stage is a stone a little more fine to take the burrs off of the knife and fine tune the edge a bit more. Like most whet stone sets there are 2 sets like this system without all of the hassles with holding the knife at the proper angle to get the edge. This sharpener is very compact and light weight for easy storage. Since it is compact it works for the smaller knives as well, instead of most that are only good for French Knives and the sorts. Possibly the most handy part of this sharpener is the suction cup on the bottom that helps hold it in place. The casing to the sharpener seems to be made of a fairly durable plastic.


From what I have seen with this sharpener you cant not go wrong with the price for the quality of edge it puts on knives. The suction cup that holds it on the bottom makes it much safer for sharpening blades. You don't have to worry about the thing jumping all over the place and losing control of the knife. This hard plastic housing appears to be very durable and will stand the test of time. I used it on this 20 year old knife shown in the picture. It revitalized the blade and improved the edge on it greatly. This knife was so beat up it took me about 30 minutes on the coarse side alone. From there on the fine side of the sharpener I did about 5 minutes of work.

Supernova 300 LED Lantern Review

This is the first LED lantern I have ever owned. I am rather impressed with it. It provides adequate lighting for what it is designed for. It creates plenty of light out on the shore line while fishing. I could see where this could be really handy in an electrical outage. It is much smaller and more compact then a traditional lantern and puts off more lighting then a kerosene lantern. With this lantern you don't have to worry about the mantles breaking if it is accidently hit and knocked over. Buying 3 batteries to run this unit is a lot cheaper then the fuel for a traditional lantern as well. There are no worries of being burnt or starting a fire with this lantern, unlike traditional lanterns as well since there is little to no heat build up form this lantern being used.


What this lantern has to offer is great lighting where there is little or none. It has 3 stages of lighting with the push button. The first stage is a regular lantern light that is decently bright. The second stage is a bright setting which puts about 2x more light. Lastly the third stage is strobe light effect that can draw the attention of others in case of an emergency. Now the globe part of the lantern is removable so you can use it more like a flashlight in a directional beam or use the built in hook and hang it from a tree that is on the bottom of the lantern. With out the globe on the lantern though the light is very weak for lighting area. The Lantern is made of sturdy rubber and plastic molding for maximum durability and adds water resistance. The LED lights are guaranteed for up to 100,000 hours of use and never need replacing.


The only drawbacks that I have found with this lantern are not having a shield to block the light from hitting you in the face while you are sitting on the shore line fishing. The other thing is putting the bottom back on once the batteries are in can be difficult.





This is a must have for the fisherman for sure. It requires about 1/4 the space of a traditional lantern and does not require having to carry a fuel can for it as well. These are perfect for inside of tents because it if gets knocked over it is not going to ruin the tent. It does not put off enough heat to burn the material either. Jesus Sees Us Doll Review

This is a doll and book set geared to small children. They say from age 2-6 in the description, I am more inclined to think it is a little more broad 2-10. The combination of doll and book are for learning the teachings of Jesus and the similarities of him when he was a child as well. It is a combination to introduce and start conversations on Christian beliefs with children. They can understand that Jesus grew up to be a man who loved everyone and taught people to do the same.

The doll is soft bodied which makes it ideal for small children to be able to carry and hug. This can be used as a hanging piece on a wall or maybe even the mantle over the fire place for children to relate that he is seeing everything that is happening. Which might be used to make the children more mindful of their actions. Now for the accompanying book, it has nice illustration that go along with the many versus. Some of the versus covered in this Luke 11-9, Ephesians 6-1, and Matthew 6-14.

Julienne Vegetable Peeler Review

This is a stainless steel  peeler. It will work on many things from potatoes to carrots. The twin blades are extremely sharp and make peeling a since. The two blades are a regular peeler and the other is serrated for making julienne slices. It is fairly durable from what I have put it through. It also has a deep hook on the end of the peeler so I can be placed on a hook on the wall. I really recommend this because the blades are so sharp and digging in a drawer with this in there could bring blood.


My impression of this peeler before I got it was how good can an 8 dollar product be. I went with it because they do offer a lifetime replacement warranty. My impression at that time was very misguided and wrong. It having the two heads on it is a little bulky and took me about 3 potatoes to get used to it. The blades are being so sharp, peeling a potato was like putting a hot knife through butter. The julienne side of the peeler I have only used once, and it is not something I will use often. The one time I used it though was to julienne some carrots for my salad that I was making. I had not issues or problems with making the cuts of carrots.

Wearever Socks Review

The socks I have are the Buster Brown socks for males shoe size 11-12. I wear a size 11 shoe, and these are just a little bit loose on my feet. However I am not holding water at my feet or ankles either. These socks are very soft feeling to the touch. These socks are also 100% cotton for a more comfortable wear. The socks went on very easy without any hassles at all. These are light compressions socks from what I can tell and they seem to stretch out a fair amount and return to normal size without signs of strain on the material. This is a very interesting and versatile product to say the least. It has multiple function combined in a small single package. There is a stylus end for using on touch screens. This has an enter-changeable end that can be used for an ink pen. It also comes with a laser pointer. The casing of this seems to be very durable and will last for a very long time. The pocket clip is also very durable so I can take the abuse of multiple times a day of clipping it into a pocket. The rubber tip of the stylus is not a solid rubber so it may tear over time from using it as a dragging motion on a screen.
This is really useful tool for me when it comes to using my Ipad since I have very large hands. It helps me from miss clicking links all the time because of my finger size. It really speeds up my time and use of my ipad. The ink pen changeable end is neat and very handy, but I do not use it because I don't want to wear out the ribs for holding it together. It does clip and hold very firmly and I intend to use the stylus end until it gives then I will use it as a pen. The laser pointer is fun to play with, and the cat loves chasing it!

I was sent this to try out and leave my opinion. This is an interesting combination of dietary supplement pills. The product is 100% pure, has absolutely no fillers, no binders, no artificial ingredients and in a pure vegetarian capsule, and most importantly they must contain at least 60% HCA. Now with this kit there are directions to follow for the best results, like any other diet. The biggest thing with these pills is the amount of water that is required to drink, it is a lot.


The first part of the combination: Garcinia Cambogia is supposed to help with many things. It is supposed to help with Weight Gain, Acne, Sluggishness, Mood Swings, Irritability Gas, Bloating, Sleeping Problems, and Constipation. I am unsure if I had any of these positive factors affect my body or not. The second part of the combination: SLENDER CLEANSE ADVANCED. This is supposed to be the fast fat lose part of the combination of pills.


Now for me I didn't see any real results other then my intake of water really increased as per directed. I think this is a set of pills for people that have really poor diet habits that need a lot of bad chemicals washed out of their system. Since I changed my diet a few years ago, this did not have a chance to do that for me. My diet now consists of staying away from fried foods, carbonated drinks, sweets, and rarely any beef. With these pills I took them as directed 30 minutes before eating and drinking a full glass of water. I understand this concept of expanding in the stomach and reducing the intake of foods to help increase weight loss as well. It is kind of like have your stomach tied to reduce your appetite as well. I did however from taking both of these pills have an increase in gas and bloating, this was uncomfortable for me. Over all after taking this combination of supplements for a month I did lose a total of 6 pounds. That is not an extreme amount, but it is weight lose.


Like any weight loss diet pills, there is always a chance that it will not work at all for your body system. The only thing you can do is try and try again until you find the right combination of supplements that works for your body. For me this does work at losing weight slowly, which is not a bad thing.  My only complaint was the gas and bloating that was associated with taking these. Then again that can be how supplements react in my body only.


If you are looking for a weight loss supplement that is natural this is a good product to start. The capsules are easy to swallow, rather large but still easy to swallow. Texas K-9 Unit Series eBook Review

This series of books are from several authors. Shirlee McCoy, Margaret Daley, and Sharon Dunn. Even though the stories are by multiple authors they are all linked into one story and brought together very well. There are still a lot of unanswered questions about this story, but I am sure that will be taken care of in books that are sure to come. These stories are well written and have a great plot line to each of them. These are Harlequin books, so there is a love story in each book.


The first book is Tracking Justice. This is about a Bloodhound named Justice. Justice is on a mission to track down a seven year old missing boy. The little boy was found in a cave in the woods.


The second book is Detection Mission. This is about a Border Collie named Kip. Kip's specialty is a cadaver dog. While locating the boy from the first story, there was bones found. This is where Kip comes into action and finds corpses of the mobs stool pigeons located through out the woods. Kip while in the woods finds a woman that has amnesia.


The third book is Guard Duty. This is about a Rottweiler dog as a trained attack/protection dog. Now Valerie(handler) and Lexi are hired to protect the woman found in the woods from the her ex-husband.

Oven & BBQ Gloves Review

Only one word to describe these gloves: Remarkable!  I cook on a gas stove, and if anyone has cooked a gas stove you know that the handles of the pans get really hot. I was able to actually hold the pan with the gloves on and keep control of the pan without burning my hands. The silicone grips on the gloves made it really easy to keep a hold of the pan while stirring. The gloves protected my hands from the heat of the burner as well as the extremely hot handles of the pan. I have also used these for bringing stuff out of my convection oven, oven, and foil pans off of the grill. They say in the description that they are rated for 662 degrees. I didn't test that, they did great with pans at 400 degrees out of the oven. After holding it for a little bit I could feel the heat of the pans but it was not burning my hand in any way. They were also tested in cold temps as well, which I still need to kick my nephew for his stunt! I mean they did a great job of keeping his hands warm while scraping the windows of the car that were covered with ice. The gloves are showing no signs of wear and tear yet, and I use them daily. Now for fit, they are large for the normal person but for me they are a little snug on my hands. I do not have to worry at all about anything moving being that tight. Makes these gloves about 10x more safe and stable then a regular pot holder.


Now for those looking for the all purpose gloves for in the kitchen, these fill most of the roll. They are cloth gloves with silicone on them. They are not a solid glove so putting your hands in boiling water would no protect your hands. Reaching into a steam cloud will still give you some steam burns, I know they would help protect but it is not what they are designed for. These are for grabbing hot pans. If you are a baker or have issues with hot pan handles these are perfect gloves to assist in the kitchen. People Speak 3 (e-book) review

I was sent a link to this book to read. It is a book by author Chaim Walder giving stories of real people and their own lives. I was only able to read the first story of this book ( A Heart of Gold) from my free link. I must say it was a very heartwarming story. It really reminds me of the Christmas story about the guy who sells his watch to get some hair combs and the woman cuts and sells her hair to get him a chain for his pocket watch. With the giving up something you hold dear for someone you care the most about. This story was very well written and had a great plot. This first story is about a ring and a mans sacrifice for the person he loves. All of the struggles with this ring and his family's feelings towards the woman he loves.

The Moon Was My Witness (E-book) review

This story provided by Abraham Levy (author) set around the Holocaust. This book is listed as a biography of that time and it is not the easiest read. It is very descriptive of the struggles of this man through persecution in a very dark time of our history. This book provides a very emotional roller coaster that will take you from sad, sickened, happy, and even elated. This incredible story had to have been terribly difficult to tell and share with us. I am usually not a big fan of biography stories because most of them are dry, boring, and drab. Which is not the case with this biography.


A short description of the story.  This is about a young polish boy during the Holocaust times of our dark era. Where his blue eyes kept him from being prosecuted as a Jew. It tells of his trial and tribulations of dealing with his family being murdered. It also tells of what his travels were about as he was making his way back to Isreal. The title of the book comes in play when a young Jewish boy sabotaged the S.S. Commanders motorcycle while working in the motor pool. What this is was a fluke accident that the commander almost killed him for it. The young boy was cleaning the motorcycle and the carb was filled with water. The Commander took it out on a very cold day and froze up on him. Okay, enough with the story line of this book, I do not want to write a spoiler.

Smart Weigh High Precision Digital Milligram Scale Review

I was sent this scale to try out by Smart Weigh. This scale is GEM20(model) for measuring very fine materials. It comes in a very nice box to keep it in. The box has pre-fit areas for each piece sent. It has a felt covering inside the box to keep from scratching or destroying the scale. The scale has a lid to cover it when not in use if it is not kept in the box. It has its own tray and two, ten gram weights to zero the scale out. It has a nice back lit LCD screen that makes it extremely easy to read. This also came with a set of needle nose tweezers as well.


Now this is okay for most people because it can be used in many functions other then weighing metals and gems. For instance weighing letters to make sure you have the proper postage. For professionals this scale is not accurate enough to measure the milligram. I did a small test with 5 items. Each item I weighed 5 times each to make sure that it was reading each of them accurately and the same. Then I added them all to the unit at one time and the scale was off a bit on the weight of all 5 combined. It was accurate to the 1/100th place on the scale though, so back to my point that this is great for the everyday person. Next thing, make sure you read the instructions! there is a ton of useful information. Like having the scale on a surface free of vibrations because that can cause the scale to read inaccurate.


If you are in the market for a very useful weigh station this is a good product to check out. I would like to think Smart Weigh and affiliates for sending me this scale to test and leave my opinion.

MeasuPro Instant Read Waterproof IPX7 Thermometer Review

I was sent TF5000(model) to test out. So we will start out with the stats of the thermometer. It is made of hard plastic and seems like it is extremely durable. On the panel there is a LCD screen for the read out with large numbers.  There are 6 buttons on the control panel.  These buttons are very clear and easy to use functions. It has the IPX7 rating for being water proof.  I had to look what that meant up! "Puddle, stream, beer cooler and splash rated - Protected against water immersion - Immersion for 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter." It is rated to handle temperatures from -58 to 572 degrees F. plus or minus 2 degrees. That means this thing is remarkable accurate on temperature readings. It comes with a protective sleeve for the probe that has a pocket clip.


My experience with this has been great with very little dislike. To start off this thing makes taking temperatures very easy. Insert the probe and it will display the temperature for about 5 seconds. Next thing it is super simple to change from C/F with the push of one button. The LCD screen has a nice large read out display on the temperatures. For the working purposes of this unit it is a great addition to making sure food is prepared at sufficient temperatures. This unit is also dishwasher safe.


There is not much to dislike about this unit. I do have some small issues that do not impede the use of this though. They are, the LCD screen does not have a backlight so if you are out at the BBQ grill after dark it can make it more difficult to get the temps. The other small thing I seen I did not like about it was the pocket clip on the probe protector. It is the only part of the probe that is not made with the very durable plastic the rest is made with. It seems like it will be easy to break.

MouseStruck (E-book) review

This is a short story from author Ita Stein Gvirtzman. It is less the 100 pages in length on my reader. This story does provide a very good plot, and is well written. The story itself was slow at points, and I found myself drifting from it in a couple of areas. Currently this story is available in e-book and paperback. I did enjoy the story and I would like to say thanks to Ebookpro and affiliates for sending me this book to read and leave my opinion.


Now for the story line briefly. This is about a woman working in a lab doing research on animals. She becomes ill and then realizes the torture she has been applying to her test subjects during her own treatments. She then becomes an activist for animal rights testing. Her main focus for her activities were mice, rats, and rabbits.


If books that offer memoirs or biographies this is a short story to check out. Now if you are an animal activist, this is a must read for sure.

Waves of Romance (E-book) Review

This is the second book of the series offered by Lori Ann Mitchell. The first book was Waves of Love in this series. The book was fairly well constructed with a decent plot line. It has been categorized as a Contemporary Romance story, but to me it was much more of a drama then anything. This story line is starting to look like to me, that it is following the life of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore with a change in professions and some added twists. This short story is under 200 pages on my reader. The book is only available in reader format at this time.


I look forward to book three "Waves Of Passion". I am interested to see if it is going to finally make or break the relationship. Over all this series of books so far has been a decent read. It is definitely for those that like love stories or dramas. If that is your preferred genre of reads. Then this is a good series to get familiar with.
