MBK Slim Mechanical watch Review

I had the chance to try out a new watch from M.B.K This is a very nice watch for under twenty dollars. It is a better built watch versus many of the big box stores hundred dollar watches. This watch comes with a metal band, made from stainless steel, a sapphire crystal, and offers fifty meters of water resistance.
I owe an edit on this next paragraph. It is from China and the currency rate puts a price at 292.80 It is not he Japanese Yen as currency.

Okay to start off with I am not sure how this watch company works on its prices. I was sent this watch with the price tag included in the package. It said the price was 1888.00 Yen. This is 16.79 in U.S currency. My watch was shipped from over seas and cut open by customs. They were not gentle in the least with this package. Using a box knife they cut through the tap, gift bag, and fairly deep into the watches box.

First thing one must do upon getting this watch is read the instructions included. There are times during the running time that you do not make adjustments to the day calander. If you ignore these time frames it may damage the watch internal gears. This also gives care instructions to maintain the life of the watch.

This watch has a stainless steel frame. Being stainless steel it should not create a greenish color to the skin if it gets wet. I think the band may even be made from stainless steel making it very durable and the watches only weak point the pins.  The pins on this watch seem to be a decent grade as well in their build. The clasp is a very tight and hard locking. It can be difficult to get the band to release for someone that might have diminished strength. I do hope that the clasp never loses the tight locking ability, as of today it is still a very  tight lock. This is however only based on two weeks worth of wearing time.

Now for the Sapphire crystal: this makes the watch scratch resistant. That does not me scratch proof. If you purposely try to scratch the watch with like a drill or something you will leave marks. Normal everyday bumps and bangs it should hold up nicely against.

The watch offering fifty meters of water resistance is a good thing. This is for people that might be wearing this and go to a park and ride like the log jam where you get wet at the bottom of the ride. I would not recommend someone to go swimming or diving with the watch on their wrist. In the instructions it also lists some cares about the watch and water. For instance do not have the watch underwater and pull out the set pin for the watch because this allows water to reach the inside carriage of the watch.

In my opinion this is a very decent constructed watch. It offers a strong housing, metal band,  strong pins, tight clasp, scratch resistance, and some water resistance. I would like to thank MBK Fashions for sending me this watch to try out and share my opinion.
