This unit is super easy to charge. Testing it out I attached to my tower and laptop for charging purposes. There was no issue it directly started charging no software or anything else needed to get it to take. It comes with the USB cord for attaching it to your electronics. It has a nice very visible stats bar to show how much charge it has remaining. I was able to charge my tablet and phone both off of one charge and it still looked to have about 1/4 of the charge remaining. So effectively I can get 2 full charges for my tablet, adds an extra 2-3 hours of time before needing to plug it in. The Stonys charger took no where near the time to recharge as for the power it provides. I could easily recharge my tablet with the portable charger and plug it back in to recharge and keep my tablet going as long as I need in that manner and it not have me leashed to a wall.
If you are tired of being tethered to a wall by power cords either for your cell phone, tablet, or other devices. This is a great device to start breaking that bond.
