This is not my first in car charger that I have owned. This however will most likely be the last brand I am likely to buy again. If is very compact in size, charges any thing that can be charged with a USB port, and lights up nicely when power is sent to it.
For starters the compact size makes it where I can plug it in my lighter plug and then close the lid and it does not hold the lid open. So I do not have to worry about someone actually pressing on the lid and breaking it like almost all the others on the market.
This car charger offers 2 USB port slots for charging. They are each labeled. The one on the bottom is the standard 1.0 charging slot and the one with the IQ lable is the 2.1 slot for a more boosted charging if needed. Inside the 2 usb slot there are lights that are on when it has power so you can easily attach it in the dark. There is also a lighted ring aroudn the top of the unit to also add a little more lighting to see when plugging in the dark. Most cars today do not have constant power to lighter plugs so they have to have the key turned on. This device will let you know if it has constant power or if the key has to be engaged for it to function. I know that on my boat that the lighter plugs are constant power all time when the battery is hooked up.
This charger will work with any lighter socket to charge devices. I have used the one in my truck, car, and boat without any problems. I have used it to charge my phone, tablet, bluetooth head phones, and many other bluetooth devices. This charger if you look at it where the tabs press in to make the connection are actually more then some thin strip of metal like most on the market. This also gives it a lot more duarbility and will last longer then other on the market. I hate the ones with those thin metal strips they usually only last a couple of times plugging in before they become useless and stop working.
The last feature that I like about this charger is the ribbed edge at the top of the unit. This makes it where you can actaully grip the unit and pull it out of the lighter socket without it slipping between your fingers.
