I picked this up for my nephew since he is getting into sports and lifts weights almost daily in school. I was hoping it would protect his skin from getting rashes from doing lots of lifts. These type of shirts were not around in the dinosaur days of my lifting so I know all about those rashes.
The shirts are compression material which helps promote circulation and reduces movement of the shirt to prevent chaffing. Compression material means it is supposed to fit skin tight for those that might not understand how these shirts work properly. So make sure not to order a shirt to big or you will be defeating the whole purpose of this shirt.
My nephew has used this shirt for running to prevent chaffing under the arm areas from the constant rubbing. He uses it in the weight room for the same purpose. He has also used it out while on the boat to help prevent burning. The shirt also allows breathing so it does keep the area it is covering much cooler while being worn. He also has it planned to wear in football to help prevent scratching and chaffing from the shoulder pads.
If you are in the market for a great shirt to use during any exercise/sports or even a shirt to try to tuck in that muffin top! LOL! I would recommend these shirts by Legend Rash Guards.
