This is a silicone ice tray with a reinforced top. It makes 9 ice cubes fairly close to the size of a normal ice tray. The ice tray is very simple to fill and use.
First off I pretty much like anything silicone around the kitchen. They are very durable and easy to clean. They alway perform the task at hand that they are designed for. Now this is a new type of silicone tray for me to say the least since it has a reinforced metal bar at the top. This does make it hold form much better when you fill it. Most silicone ice trays tend to bow until the side wall make contact. It does not spill out water when they bow like that but it can be a bit awkward. Next rolling the ice cubes out on the standard silicone ice trays can be a bit of a struggle as well because of how flexible the trays are. With this reinforcement across the top it is much more simple to roll the ice cubes out.
Since they are silicone they are dishwasher safe when it come to cleaning. I recommend that when you first get them to run the water as hot as you can and soak them for a couple of minutes. After a couple of minutes of soaking wipe them with a dish cloth and rinse them in hot water. Lastly wipe them dry. This pattern will prevent a film from showing up in and on the ice cubes. This can be a funky aspect from silicone if you do not clean the tray completely once they have arrived.
