With the open description of this book: "With gripping suspense and riveting action “The Killing Rituals” is an intense political thriller that sets the covert war against international terrorism – and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict - in a context of the super-powers’ cold-war struggle for dominance." I was so ready for this book. It is a book about political espionage and spies. This book for me was not a "thriller", I personally did not enjoy this book. It simply did not hold my attention at all. My mind would wonder off to other things happening around me. I fond it easy to put down to do other things and more difficult to pick it up to start reading it again. It is supposedly written by a former Secret Service agent.
Now as far as the story it is based on when Russia was starting to fall apart. This book goes into details on how all the different political parties, and countries effect policy. There is a lot of spy games and finding out who are spies. The story's plot line for me was very slow moving and boring for most of the book. There are some spots in the book that pick up and start to entertain but quickly drops back off into the slow grind.
If you are a fan of political espionage and spy games this is a book that might hold interest for you.

Lumenate USB Reading Lamp with Flexible Gooseneck Review
I was sent this item to test and leave a review on. This USB lamp is fairly handy. It has multiple stage lighting. Easy to turn off and on and requires no batteries. Now the lamp having multiple stage lighting is on the main switch on the back of the lamp, click it one time and one of the LED lights activates, click a second time the other LED light turns on. Clicking it a third time turns off the lamps. The lamps are fairly bright if you are working in a small or close area. This is made to do things like lite up your keyboard on your laptop so you can see. I actually have it plugged in and on right now as I am writing this :) It could be used in any USB socket for spare lighting. I have noticed it works well on lighting up the side of my laptop where my power plug is when I need to plug in for a recharge. It would work great for lighting a book you are reading in a dim lit area. Now for the make up of the light, the casing is made of plastic which does not seem to be extremely durable. The cord area is a thin metal adjustable housing. It has some spring back in it when trying to bend for the desired position. The metal housing seems fairly durable but I would not suggest trying to form a figure eight or see how many times it can be twisted. The whole unit is very lightweight and compact.
I see this having so many uses since it plugs into USB slots for power. Phones, tablets, pc, and readers all for the most part have a USB slot now. This is great for the student working on homework at a laptop and able to turn on this light for reading purposes and not have to turn on an over head light or lamp. It can be used to light up keyboards at night to not interrupt others in the house while sleeping. Another instance I used this light, I had just unlocked the door to the house and dropped my keys, and of course they found their way under the steps where I could not see them with the porch light on. If you are in the market for some additional lighting that is very transportable and USB capable, this is where you need to stop and consider this product.

Vitamin C Serum Review
This product is very simple to use. All that is needed is a cleaned surface and then shake the dropper and then apply to the skin area and finish with a moisturizer. The main ingredients to this Serum is Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Hyaluronic Acid. There are about 25 other listed ingredients, some I can not pronounce even. This is supposed to help with fighting aging of the skin appearance. I did not notice any odor to this serum when I was applying it.
Now for the results of the serum I did not notice an real increase in the anti aging appearance. It did however help a little bit the with dry skin. I think it did boost the benefits of the moisturizer to be honest, which is never a bad thing. This is not an over night miracle for help with anti aging, but it does show some signs of positive results, minor for me but have not had the product long. The box is labeled recycled I am guessing for the box it is shipped in. It also states that it was not tested on animals, and that it is certified organic. The only thing I have seen to avoid is putting it in the eyes.

MeasuPro OX100 Review
This is an extremely handy piece of equipment to have around. I was given the chance to test this product at home and was more then happy to sign up for it. My father having many medical issues this is a great thing to have around for when he starts having difficulties. It ranges from his COPD, Asthma, or CHF. This instant read pulse-ox is quick to let us know where the problems are starting at for instance if his oxygen level is very low we know that it is something with breathing (COPD/Asthma). The other part for reading pulse is great to tell us if his heart is really up and that is what is causing the difficulties. It also lets us monitor throughout the attack to see if he is improving or if we need to make ready for a road trip to the emergency room.
Now for the nuts and bolts of this unit. First of it is a compact size so it is easy to store, and comes with a leash so it can actually be hung on the wall for easy access in times of need. Next it is super easy to use. All that is required is push the button on top of the unit and stick it on the finger of the person to be checked. This Unit has a OLED Display that is a rotating, much like the technology of IPads. The display is bright and really easy to read. Now for the actual read out of the stats of this unit, on the pulse it is plus or minus 2 beats per minute. The Oxygen stat is also a plus or minus of 2 the stat. This is fairly accurate compared to most on the market.
When I ordered this it came with the pulse-ox, lanyard, carrying case, and a directions booklet. Now the lanyard makes it where it can be worn around the neck, or hung on the wall as I stated earlier. Being that it is compact it can also be in the carrying case in a pocket as well. There are more uses for this other than I stated, for instance it could be used for training athletes to make sure they are getting enough oxygen through their system during physical exercise.

Auto Seat Back Protector Review
I had never put much thought in protecting the back of my seats until I was able to test this product. It is extremely easy to install them. All it takes is undoing the clips, wrapping straps around the seat and then clip them back. From there it is tucking away the straps in the seat so no one snags on them and they stay in place. They do an outstanding job and keep the back of the seat clean and undamaged. These work real well for people getting in out of the vehicle that might drag their feet down the back of the seat. It is great protection as well from children in car seats that constantly kick the back of the seats. Granted the kicking in the back wont stop and you will get to feel every last one of those kicks but the seat will survive much better.
Now for cleaning, it has been very simple for me. All I have done to clean and maintain my seat covers is using a damp wash cloth and wiping them down. I wipe them down while in place on the back of the seat. I don't use a lot of water because I don't know if the material will hold water and start to smell mildewed, but I am not taking that chance I like them far to well to lose them to something that simple.
This product is ideal for helping maintain the life a vehicle's seats. So if there is a car seat with a toddler in it, or some big foot teen dragging their foot down the back of your car seats. I really recommend looking into a product like this to help maintain and keep car seats clean.

A.M.P. Phase 1 E-book Review
I was recently sent this book to read and leave a review of by email with a pdf file from the publishing company. (Slipstream Publishing) This book was written by author Brian K. Larson. This is the first book of his series and my first read from this author. The book A.M.P. (Amplified Mental Prosection) to me is a CIA type espionage story crossed with The Borg from Star Trek meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It is definitely a new read and idea for a story. I have never came across a book with a similar plot line yet. The book has a good story and is not a bad read once an understanding of where the book is going. Sometimes it looses focus as I call it on the plot and strays making it kind of difficult to follow or understand. Most of the time in the book the reader catches up with what happened prior during the story but remains a little confused till then. The author appears to be somewhat new because the book changes in format through out. Sometimes in the story line the details are so descriptive that it almost takes away from the story and in other parts it is lacking in detail making it a very slow moving story. I do hope that this author does continue to write and form into one of the greats authors of our time. I do see great potential for this Author.

For the most part this book will keep your interests but there are some slow parts due to lack of description. Ceremonial Grade Green Tea Powder Review
My canister of tea came with 1 oz. of powder in a vacuum sealed bag, the tin to keep it in once the bag is opened, and there was a recipe book as well.
Organic Matcha Tea was decent once I read the full directions! My first attempt was using my Keurig at a 6oz. portion. Since the directions call for 3 oz. of water to 1/2 teaspoon of powder. Well I used a full teaspoon after my Keurig finished the 6 oz. of hot water. What I did not know and read far enough for that the water is best at 170+ degrees. So mixing it did not fully break down the powder. This left a bit of a grit type drink towards the bottom. I didn’t see much of a froth that the can mentions either. So now I have messed up and actually read the direction fully! Again I used my Keurig at 6 oz. portion or water. Next, I put the cup of water in the microwave to get it to 170+ degrees. Then, I mixed in my 1 teaspoon of powder and whisked the water around for a bit. This time the froth that was commented on the can was there, not to mention when I got to the bottom I didn’t have powder crystals in the bottom.
Now for the tea! It is most definitely a green tea! It tastes very similar to chewing on a piece of alfalfa stem fresh off of the plant. Having this flavor though was not bad though since it was fairly mild. I could still actually taste the flavor of tea, where most green teas that is lost. I will say that this tea is A LOT better hot than cold. At cold the tea flavor gets masked and it only taste like chewing on alfalfa. Being a ceremonial grade tea it is expected to be served hot though. I would not make this a normal drink since it is fairly pricy per oz. of powder. It would be great for special occasions, parties, or maybe a date night doing the whole karate kid II type date.

Valhalla Sleep Mask Review
My sleep mask kit from Valhalla came with the mask, ear plugs, and small carrying bag for them.
If anyone would like to know there are some real differences in sleep masks. This Valhalla sleep mask is among one of the better I have seen or tested. This mask is very well consturcted. The material is smooth to the skin almost as nice as silk. I comes with to vents, one on each side of the mask that allows the eyes to be able to breath all night. These vents are set up in a way that does not allow light into the eye area covered by the mask. Next is the velcro strap that attaches around the head to hold it in place. This also makes the mask adjustable to the wearers head. There is also a soft cloth that goes over the end of the nose. This really helps to keep the mask in place. Most masks do not offer this, and it is great for people that move their forehead and brings the mask up into the eyes. It really cuts down on this travel motion. They eye cups are not of a pre-formed material and can be kind of stretched to help hold it off of the eyelashes.
The only drawback from the mask is the eye cups. They are not formed and do not do a well job of keeping off of my eyelashes. I do have long eyelashes and find this really annoying as I am trying to go to sleep. Even though going to sleep means closing my eyes and not moving my lids, but I have never been one to go to sleep quickly.
The only other thing to comment on is the piece of cloth that goes over the end of the nose. It works great in stopping the movement of the mask. It does take a little bit of time to get used to for sure. The piece of cloth is very soft and almost rubber bandish type material.
Now for the ear plugs, they are pretty much useless. They only muffle sound barely, I was able to hear ever word being said to me while having in the ear plugs and without anyone having to change their tone or level of their voices.

Deluxe Teeth Whitening Kit Review
This was a first time experience for me. It requires some work to do it correctly. First thing is making the mouth pieces more molded for a better comfort fit. Do this by soaking them in some hot water then putting them into the mount and sucking the air out. Not difficult but do not have the fittings so hot that they burn the mouth. Next put the gel into each mouth piece and insert them. It says to start out at a 5 minute treatment for the first and add 5 minutes to the next 2 consecutive treatments. Total time should only be 15 minutes max with the gel. It is done in this manner to make sure there is no sensitivity or pain to the treatment. Lastly comes the blue gel, this only takes a small amount and spread it like the gel but no where near as thick. This is left in for 15 minutes as well, it helps to make sure the treatment stays longer.
Now what everyone wants to know! Does it work? Yes it does. I could see a very noticeable difference in the first treatment. The next 4 treatments I have done it is not as noticeable but it does keep working on cleaning and whitening teeth. The only thing I didn't like about the mouth pieces having the tabs for soaking them to form them. After I formed mine I removed those tabs. This made it where I was able to close my mouth completely without drool going down my face from the tabs sticking out.

Travel Pillow Review

This travel pillow is supplied from AirComfy. It has a ton of uses. It has a strap to attach it to head rests to stay in place. This is great to help with placement of the pillow, and you know what I am talking about if you have ever been on a plane and trying to sleep. The pillow always goes somewhere. If you are on a short trip you can use it on your lower back to help keep you from getting a stiff back. The pillow is adjustable on the air pressure in the pillow, making it useful for just about anyone. The pillow can be deflated to a pretty small size and it comes with its own carry bag. Now for me I didn't like the coating on the outside of the pillow against my skin. I am not a fan of felt type cloth against my skin though, personal preference. I have not checked yet, but going to see if they offer some form of a pillow case for it.
These have many places of use. It can be used in a car for those long trips, train, or plane. It can be used in a backpack for camping because it reduces down to a fairly small size. I personally put one in my sleeping bag roll to hold it in place and there when I am setting up bedding for the night. I will be ordering a second one to take with me in the car to be ready for any long trips in the future.

Astor Canvas Log Carrier Review

This canvas bag has a ton more uses then only for logs. It is very well constructed for the load it is designed to carry. It really does reduce the traffic mess left behind from bringing in logs to add to the... fire. On average it will carry three to five medium cut log, basically the amount needed to keep a fire going all evening. The handles go all the way round the bag to increase the strength of the bag while totting a load. The stitching of the bag is well done. The bag itself is supposed to be machine washable in cold or hot. I do not know, I have yet to wash mine. I am careful where I set it outside though, not in mud or things to insure the longevity of the carrier.
This canvas log carrier is great for anyone that has a fireplace, wood burning stove, or planning a cookout at the lake in a fire pit. It reduces mess and hassle while transporting. Other things I tested with this bag, I put a few tools in it and used it for a tool bag.( had about 20 tools in the bag) It can be used in many ways, but I suggest it as it is for, being a log carrier. It is a great tool for anyone needing to tote wood.

Toraysee Lens Cloth Review

For starters, I never in my mind thought a cloth for cleaning glasses would ever be worth about eight dollars. I mean I have been using my shirt for so long! I have never been SOOOO wrong. These microfiber towels are simply amazing. After the first use, I realized that I have been looking through dirty glasses. These towels remove finger smudges with ease. My friend said it was the first towel to easily remove the hair spray at the top of her glasses.
They claim the towels are fairly indestructible. These towels are washable as well. The towels when used are lint free, I have not seen any lint when using it, so I agree to the claim of 100% lint free.
The towels come in three designs that I know of. These 3 designs are gray, sage green, and gray with a spotted design. I personally ordered the sage green towel. I am extremely satisfied with my towel.
There are many uses for these towels. They can be used for cameras, camcorders, glasses, or any other lenses. I have also used it to clean the screen of my phone as well. The towel did a great job of removing all of the finger smudges on the screen.

Lather & Wood Pre-Shaving Oil Review

This is my first time using a shaving "oil". I did not know what to expect from it. This was the unscented formula from Later and Wood. The oil does have a smell to it, it is very faint. It smells like tree bark has been rubbed on to your face. There are multiple ways to use this oil. First is using it only as a shaving base. I tried this method once to test it out. To me it did not leave a very close shave and with my sensitive skin I had some razor burn from it. Second is to use it in conjunction with a shaving cream. Put the oil on and rub it in a circular motion like the previous. Then use shaving cream on top of the oil once it is rubbed in well. This is supposed to offer the closest shave possible. I don't know that it was any closer then my normal shave. I did not have razor burn using this method though.
On the directions is says for the best results: take a shower then apply the oil to the area in a circular motion making sure to rub the oil in well. I did try it this way, and it created the razor burn I was speaking of earlier. I also tried this with using a wash cloth and a sink of hot water and applied the hot compress to my face then added the oil. It seemed to rub in a lot easier, but with out the shaving cream, again I was left with some razor burns. The biggest and most important thing that this offered was my skin on my face was not nearly as dried out. In the winter I tend to have dry skin on my face and when using this oil, my dry skin was very minimal.
If you have sensitive I recommend not trying this product as a stand alone shaving treatment.
If you have flaking dry skin I strongly recommend adding this to your shaving regiment. It will not get rid of it completely but for me it reduced it by about 80%.
