This is a car charger the plugs into you normal lighter plug socket. It is about 2 inches long. It is designed to be able to charge 3 different devices at one time. When I ordered this USB charger it was only offered in black. I am not sure if there are other colors available.
I am very impressed with this device. It offers the ability to charge 3 devices at one time in a single lighter plug. With as many devices out there now that are portable and recharable I was forever running out of charging space while on the go. This has helped greatly. My nephew and I can chage both of our phones and the tablet at the same time. Since we are using the aux jack to play music from the tablet we have to keep that one going regardless!
This plug offers 3 total slots for charging. One of the slots is the regular 1A USB charge slot. The other 2 that are verticle are the 2.1A USB charge slots for a faster charge cycle. There is an indicator light in the unit that powers up when it has a connection in the lighter plug.
Now for the connection inside the plug. It has 2 press in triggers on the side of the unit that will make connection and not lose it. It is not like those cheapy thin metal strip to connect with that you have to tinker with for 20 minutes to get a connection and then if you breath to hard it loses the connection again.
This plug is made from a hard plastic that appears to be very durable. I know I have dropped it half a dozen times at least and it is not showing any signs of damage. This plug seems well made with the connectors on sides as well, they feel really solid to the touch if you press on them gently with your fingers. If you are in the market for a GOOD USB charger to plug into your lighter in your vehicle, this is a unit that you need to check out.
