French Press w/ Metal Frame Review
This French Press is very nice looking and works well. It is a great way to make a warm cup of coffee, tea, or any beverage needing filtered. It is also very easy to work and use this press.
First off I will start with the design. I like the glass body with stainless steel frame. It makes it really easy to make sure you have it cleaned well for you next fresh of coffee or tea. It is not an overly large unit. It requires less space then your normal coffee pot and about 1/3 of the size if of a single serve machine.
Now for using this French Press: First step is putting the grounds in. Next apply your water and let it set for 5 minutes or so. Use Warm water not boiling water per directions sent with the press. Next you put the lid on and press the plunger down slowly to make sure it keeps the ground filtered from the drink. Last step is to pour your cup of coffee or tea. For me I use it for Tea. If I want to add lemon to my tea I actually put the wedges on top of the filter plunger and then put it down in the press. You can put them under with your grounds as well if you want.
Now for cleaning it is like any other glass type coffee pot. Eventually it will start to stain from the coffee or tea. So I use the old trick from when I was a server to clean mine. I put a couple packets of sugar in the bottom, a couple of lemon wedges, and some ice cubes. From there I swirl it around in a circular motion and it slowly removes the stains. Once I have the stains out of it I do a complete clean to remove any taste of lemon left behind.
