12 Piece Stainless Steel Mix & Measure Combo Set Review
This is a very awesome collection of bowls and cups. There are 12 pieces in total in this set. Every piece is stainless steel which makes it very durable. Included in this set are:
3 Bowls
4.2, 2.6, and 1.5 quart sizes
4 Measuring spoons
1/4, 1/2, 1 teaspon, and 1 tablespoon
4 Measuring cups
1/4, 1/3, 1/2, and 1 cup
1 Wire whisk
I will start with the measuring spoons. They are made from a decent thickness of steel. The handles can be bent if some pressure is applied. So do not use them to work in your garden LOL. Pretty anything you are going to measure out in these spoons will do no damage to them. The handles also have the spoon sizes engraded into them. These engravings are in both standard and metric sizes. At the end of the handles the spoons are connected with a fairly cheap key ring type attachment. Personally I removed the cheap key ring and put them on my peg board.
Next the measuring cups. These are again made from a decent thickness of metal. They will be able to withstand many years of use. They also have the sizes of the cups engraved in the handles in both standard and metric sizes like the spoons. The handles are about the same thickness as the spoons which is kind of disappointing because the rest of the cup is made from steel about 2x thicker. Again these are connected with a cheap key ring that I removed and put them on my peg board as well.
Now for the mixing bowls. These are simply the best part of this whole collection. They are super easy to clean and very durable. You do need to pay attention to what you are using in the bowls though. They are steel and will transfer the temperature from inside the bowl to the outside of the bowl. So if you pour some hot gravy straight from the stove into the bowl, the bowl is going to get hot. I use the 4.2 and 2.6 quart bowls to make things like bread pudding, banana oatmeal bars, and various other things. I use the bowl that works best for the batch size that I am putting together. The small 1.5 quart bowl has been claimed by my nephew as his new cereal bowl.
Lastly is the whisk. It is probably the only part of the set that is not built very durable. It does work well for mixing multiple things. I have used the whisk to beat eggs, make a cake mix, and for pancake batter. The handle of the whisk appears to be sealed which is great for making sure there are much lesser chances of left over food making people sick.
Since this is a stainless steel set. It is super easy to care for and clean. For starters it usually only requires some warm water and a wash cloth to clean the entire set. They are stainless steel which means they are dishwasher safe. Again be careful when taking them from the dishwasher, let them set and cool before grabbing them because they will be hot. These are able to air dry and they will not leave spots.
If you are looking for a great set of bowls, cups, and spoons for baking this is a great set to pick up. They are durable, easy to take care of, and clean. I would like to thank Skas marketing for sending me this great set of stainless steel kitchen pieces to try out and share my opinion.
