Volmate Vol-300 Battery Tester Review

The link on this page is to the Vol-200 battery tester. I was sent the model VOL-300 instead. Either way this is kind of a handy little tool to keep around your battery drawer. It is designed to let you know how much charge is left in your battery. It is really easy to test your battery with and super easy to read.

In all the unit might weight a couple of ounces. So you do not have to worry about it being to heavy for your drawer it is stored in. The tester is about 4 inches by 2 inches. About 1 inch in thickness.
To use this tester all you you have to do is set the positive end of your battery on the positive icon side of the meter. Then slide it up until it makes contact to the top of the unit. From there it is a simple read the gauge to see where you stand on this batteries charge. I have used it for AAA, AA, C, and D batteries on the slide handle. Now for the guage it is color coded as well as labeled. There is red, yellow, and green. Red is replace, yellow is low, and green is good. On the top of the unit there is a place to test 9V batteries as well, I have not used it yet but I do not forsee any issues with the testing.

Upon testing the unit I wanted to make sure it was doing as it states. I had some run down batteries of all sizes that I collected to be able to do this test. I also had some that I was currently using and were in place for a bit of time. So to start with I put a fresh battery that had never been used on the tester and the peg went to about 2/3 into the green area. Next I chose to grab one of the old worn out batteries that I knew for sure was dead. The meter did read this as a dead battery. So far so good great on both ends of the scale. I tried to get a battery that would show up in the yellow are but I do not think they last long in the low area. Or I was unable to get that reading. None the less It did read every dead battery as dead and all of the new batteries as good.

If you are looking for a quick way to test the life of your batteries before you install them or want to check how well your rechargeable batteries are doing on their charge. This is a handy little unit that can make that all possible. I would like to thank Volmate Technologies and affiliates for sending me this battery tester to try out and share my opinion.
