Vuann Pl90 Penlight Review

This is a very nice penlight from Guandian Solutions. Currently it is offered in black and purple for color choices. Upon ordering you get the penlight, 2 Duracell AAA batteries, a small bag with rubber garments for making it water proof, and a handy carring case.

To start with it comes with an IPX-8 Rating. This means: The equipment is suitable for continuous immersion in water under conditions which shall be specified by the manufacturer. Normally, this will mean that the equipment is hermetically sealed. However, with certain types of equipment, it can mean that water can enter but only in such a manner that it produces no harmful effects. This makes it very useful at all times since moisture is not going to harm it.

The penlight is made from corrosion resistant aircraft grade aluminum alloy which makes it very durable. It also makes the light where it is not going to rust out on you if it comes in contact with water. I have kept this thing in my shirt pocket since I received it. I have picked up heavy boxes and put them against my chest without thinking about the penlight and it has survived every blow without any signs of failure in its durability. I can not start to count the number of ink pens, shirts from the blown up pens, and penlights that I have destroyed over the years in this manner. The penlight also offers a very sturdy pocket clip. Unlike most this pocket clip is not going to break easy at all. It is also clipped around the pen so if you do hook it on something the clip will slip off without breaking. Then you can simply clip it back on without it being bent all funky or broken.

The penlight has 3 light settings to choose from. The first time you click the button the light comes on at its brightest setting. Then you press and the light goes off. Press again and you are to the medium light. Once again pressing the button turns it off. Now for the last press it will give you the most dim light setting the penlight offers. The light will always change its setting everytime you turn it off. This is the only thing I do not like about it. If you want it on the high setting every time you have to click through until it is off just before you turn it on for the brightest setting. On the brightest setting you can see several hundred feet with the lighting. From there the distance is about 1/3 less with each setting. Working around a very reflective surface area but you are in need of a light this penlight does great on the lowest setting. Yes it will still reflect the light back at you off of the surface but it is not a blinding light.

The light does come in a nice case you can put in the glovebox of your car if you like. You can also store the batteries in the case instead of in the light. This is nice for preventing rusting of the batteries in the flashlight. There was also a small bag in the end compartment that holds the rubber O-Rings to help make it water tight. I went to the parts store and purchased 2 more sets of O-Rings to make sure I had them if I needed them. They are simple to install, replace, and very cheap to have on hand.

If you are looking for a very nice penlight, you need to look no further. It is about 5 inches in length, has 3 light settings, has a very nice range on lighting, super durable, and water proof. I would like to thank Guandian Solutions and affiliates for sending me this penlight to try out and share my opinion.
