Silicon Devices COMFORT+ Bluetooth Earphone Review

Upon picking up this set of earbuds from Silicon you get a nice carrying bag, the ear buds, charging cord, manual, and a small bag full of rubber tips. The carrying bag is really nice and compact but the zipper is very bad. The first time I unzipped the bag the zipper fell off. I am going to guess mine was a defective bag for it to have that kind of an issue on the first use.


These earbuds put out a very good sound quality. It is very crisp and clear up to about 90% of max volume of my devices. From there it starts to distort some. For me at 30% of the volume was more then loud enough for me on most occasions. At that volume I am not able to hear any outside noises unless they are extremely loud.


This set of earbuds are Bluetooth enabled. I had no problem pairing them to my tablet or phone. Like most other Bluetooth devices there is a button on the earbuds to set up the pairing. It will flash between blue and red while it is searching for connection. Once it is connected it will tell you in the the earbuds "Bluetooth connected" Once it is connected the light will go to blue and stay.


Charging the unit is very simple. It comes with a charging cable that connects to a USB port. I was able to charge these with my wall charger, car charger, laptop, desktop, and portable charger. While it is charging there is a red light that comes on and stays on until fully charged, and then it turns to blue indicating that it is completely charged. Initially it says in the manual the first charge should be no less then 2 hours. On average a full charge lasts five to six hours. After the first initial charge it does not take as long on further chargings, usually about 30 minutes. When the charge is about to go on the earbuds you will be told "battery is low" and be ready you got about 15 seconds and it shuts down. On a side note while you are charging the earbuds you can not use them to listen with at the same time.


The earbuds come with 3 different sets of plugs for a more comfortable fit. For me I have found out that my ear canals are 2 different sizes and being able to use the small on my right and the medium on my left is very nice. There are also some rubber blade looking pices that attach to the earbuds. These are designed to go against the inside wall of the lobes to help hold the earbuds in place. These do help a great deal and makes the earbuds much more difficult to fall out from being in motion. This makes it great for those that do lots of exercises, running, or a job that requires a lot of movement.


Now for the Bluetooth part of these earbuds. It says they are good up to 10 meters. They are for sure good up to that distance. I was able to actully get about 50 feet before it started to lose its connection in an outside environment. Inside the house I was good for the 10 meters easy as well regardless of doors and walls. I could also go out to the shed and back without losing the connection.


Now for the earbuds alone they are very versitile with all the extra features. They are very comfortable in the ears once you find the proper fit. There is an button on the side that is used for the volume up/down on your device to the earbuds. On the flat surface there is a button the call the functions button. For me this is the on/off button for the device. This is also the button you will need to hold down for about 3 seconds for it to start the search to pair your earbuds to your device. The only thing that does not work well for me is the cable connecting between the earbuds is covered in silicone. This is not a bad thing unless it rubs against your bare skin and then it pulls the earbuds and can even pull one out. So for me instead of wrapping them around the backside of my head, I have the cord hanging in front and Then there is no longer an issue. Since the earbuds fit so well and stay in place much better then most I do not have to worry about them falling out and stepping on them.

Kinetiks Knee Pain Relief Support Brace Review

I picked up this brace for my knees. Being an ex-football player, was into weight lifting, and various jobs in my past. To say the least my knees are shot along with many other joints. I know having a decent brace on hand is a great thing for when the knees act up.


To begin with this brace has an open petella and has some gel packs around the petella that hold it in place. Most of the time if a brace does not hold this stable the movement alone can be difficult to deal with. The brace is not like the normal take of your shoe and slide it up your leg to put on. This one has 3 Velcro straps that go around the knee. Another nice feature with this brace is the inside that rides along the skin is very soft and does not feel itchy to the skin. So you will not have to put a cloth under it to make it more comfortable to wear. The brace has soft sides where the Velcro attaches to it that makes it very mobile friendly.





Putting the brace on is extremely easy. I was sitting in my chair on the edge with my leg extended out straight. Then I took the brace appart at the Velcro straps and laid the opened brace across the top of my knee. Next I took the middle strap and pulled it around the back of my knee and attached it. From there the other 2 straps go the other way around the back of the leg above and below the knee. Then you can adjust how tight you need the brace to be around your knee for the best comfort and support.


With the quality of this brace and ease of use. I can see it being used for more then when a knee is acting up. I could see this brace having a huge impact on protecting the knees while doing heavy lifting. This brace also helps me with the aches and pains of my knee since it does hold in some heat. It is kind of the concept of the Ben-Gay without the oily mess and smells. Do not confuse this with taking the place of heat treatments, but can help when you do not need the smell or mess.

Hillsong United EMPIRES Review

This is a musical group that are gospel based. Through out the CD there are 2 main artists that sing the songs. One is male and the other is female. The songs to me come across as a very light soft country style music. There is an array of musical instruments you can hear through out the CD including drums witch is often left out of most religious music unfortunately.


Now for the female artist in the CD. She has a powerful and great voice. Her songs are crisp and clear which makes it a great listening experience. She has a strong enough voice that it is not covered up by the music playing in the background or the back up vocals.


Now for the male artist in the CD. He has a great voice when he uses it. Most of the songs he comes across and he is trying to hard to sing softly or even trying to whisper out the words. Some might think he is trying to come across as crying the words out. When he does actually sing it is very clear and is not bled out by the music. A lot of the times when he is doing his crying/whisper thing his words can be lost to the music in the background.


Over all it is not a bad collection of music. It is one of a religious base that I could tolerate and actually enjoy. If you are a person that delights in gospel music or soft/light music then this is a great CD to pick up and try out. Long Exercise Bands Review

I recently got these resistant bands to try out. The concept is very simple on how to use them. They are designed to be used in a work out to improve fitness and well being. Upon ordering these you will get a set of 3 bands, 1 door anchor, and a short guide on a few exercises for a 10 minute work out with these bands.


Now the 3 bands are all different colors. They are also 3 different levels of resistance to each band. Yellow is the lighter resistance, blue for medium, and red for heavy resistance. On some of these exercises I have had to stack the bands together to make more resistance so I can feel the muscles really firing. I have found that these are actually a lot better use for helping with stretches for me. The one door anchor is as describes, attach it to the door and the band for other exercises. The little guide is a one page showing different types of positions you can use the bands to work the muscles of the body.


I see where these can be super handy when it comes to rehab of surgeries or injuries. I remember when my knee was messed up and surgery was required. I know having these bands would have made it a lot more easy to find exercises to speed up the recovery. I was limited on the resources at my house to do all of the work outs and could have easily had them covered with this one set of bands.


These bands are 5 feet long and are 6 inches wide which makes them usuable by almost anyone of any height. If you are looking for a great gift idea for that active person in your life that you know or looking for a nice set of bands that can give you a short workout in your own busy schedule, these will more then fill that bill. Hair brush Review

I was sent this brush from SH&SH and I really expected it to have the same results as any other brush that I have used in the past. I did come to realize that this brush does have some benefits over the other brushes I had used before.


To start with the bristles are covered in a material that makes it go through your hair much easier without pulling. This makes it so much nicer when brushing through dry, damage, knotted, spilt ends, hair, enough about my hair though. The brush also has a large head area that spreads the hair out and makes it easier to pull through your hair and remove knots.


The only issue I have with this brush is the handle. It is very short only about 3 inches long. For me it makes it a little more difficult to hang onto since I have fairly large hands. I do understand why it has a short handle to save room for those that might want to carry in their hand bag. The brush also has a mirror surface on the back of it as well for those that might need to check out if there is something on their face or make up check to see if it needs fixed.


Personally I have this brush laying on my bathroom sink counter. I use it daily to brush through my hair. It does a very good job on long damaged hair like mine. It used to take me about 15 minutes of constant brushing with my old hair brush to get the knots worked out of it. Now it only takes me a couple minutes and my hair is in so much better shape in that couple minutes with this brush then the 15 I used to spend with my old brush. Also with this brush it does not feel like I am pulling my hair out with every stroke.

Teeth Whitening Kit Review

When ordering this you get an instruction manual, 2 tubes of gel, 2 mouth pieces, and 1 tube of bleach. Along with that you will get a link to a video that walks you through each step of the process to get everything ready to use the kit.


To start off with the 2 mouth pieces: they are a fairly thick, so heating them for 3 or 4 seconds for me did not get the job done. I tried the 4 seconds and I had zero impressions from my teeth. So I decided to leave it in for about 10 seconds and then quickly stuck it in my mouth and did the suction part. Again, not 1 tooth impression. So on my third time I placed the mouth piece in the boiling water for 30 seconds and then quickly to my mouth in the same manner. This time there was only a slight sign of a couple of teeth in the whole tray. I did not dare go any longer then that though since it burned my gums.


The next step for this is using the tubes included in the package. To start off you are to put a dab of gel in each tooth impression if you were lucky enough to get them. Do not overload the area because it is not very healthy for the gel to set on the gums for extended time. Now that you have the gel on it, you place the mouth pieces into your mouth for 15 to 30 minutes. I marked the bottom plate of mine with a small cut at the back of the molar area so I would make sure I was using it on the same set of teeth each time. I also took the tabs off of the from of the mouth pieces once I had them formed up. This keeps you from drooling all over yourself while the pieces are in. Now once the gel part is done you can move to bleaching your teeth. This requires some work. You have to dry the teeth then apply the bleach to your teeth. From there not closing your mouth or rubbing off the bleach in any manner. I found that I was having a hard time keeping my lips from touching my teeth so I put the bleach on my teeth and them I took my mouth pieces and put them over the top of the bleach. If you do this part the way I did, make sure that you have cleaned all of the gel out and washed/dried both plates. From there it keeps the bleach in place for me. After the bleaching is one you can rinse your mouth out well and you have completed one treatment.


If you experience any discomfort from the gel or bleaching it says to stop the bleaching process for 2 to 4 days. The other suggestion is to cut back on the time that it is in your mouth. I did experience a lot of discomfort from this kit. There is a reason they claim that it is the fastest working kit on the market. Now the gel does not smell the best, but most cleaning products I have ever come across never smelled all that great.
The manual and video are a great addition to this process because other wise I would not have known even where to start. They mainly cover getting the mouth pieces ready and forming them to your mouth. The manual does go into details about when not to use this home treatment. For instance, if you are pregnant, exposed roots, or recent surgery in the mouth/jaw area.


Over all the product did as it claims. It did help with whitening my teeth. Now the important part: do not get sucked in on this free gel refills. For starters that is only part of the kit, that does not include the bleach tubes which does the majority of the whitening. To start with they charge a penny, that makes it not free! Next you can not order more then 1 tube at a time and must pay shipping for each tube. This is where they have their costs covered for the "free" refills.


If you are in the market for a teeth whitening kit and do not have any sensitive gum issues this kit would work great for you. On the other hand if you have sensitive gums be prepared to feel like someone has struck a torch up in your mouth and throwing gasoline on top of it. Needle nose pliers Review

I can not count the number of times I could have used a pair of needle nose pliers with curved ends to help me with projects. I know just working around the house and being able to hold things with  the handle on the surface making it hard to grip So you do not have to try and look through your hand to see what you are doing. These pliers simply make that problem no longer a factor.


These pliers offer so many things in one unit. You have the ability to use them as a pair of scissors for cutting things like fishing line. Then there is the spring in the grip area that makes it so much easier to apply pressure at the clamp point. The handles are covered with ABS plastic that helps with comfort in holding when applying some pressure. There is also an area of the pliers that can be used as a crimper. Lastly there is a nice area of these pliers that make it easier for removing fishing hooks from what you have landed.


These pliers are great for using while fishing since they have the curved tips and the hook inset. I have used regular pliers and other needle nose pliers to remove hooks from my fish. This was usually a somewhat difficult process since I could not see through my hands to secure the hook and remove it more cleanly. Being able to get the hook out more cleanly makes the fishes life much longer on your stringer over grabbing and yanking because you can not see what you are doing. Not to mention that if the fish has swallowed your hook these pliers have a cutter to cut the line about 3 inches outside of the fishes mouth. This way you know which ones you may need to explore and get back after you have cleaned them.


If you are needing a really nice set of pliers that will come in handy around the house over and over, maybe a jeweler, or even for that fisher in your life. You can not go wrong with these pliers because they will get the job done. Oh! and do not forget about the carrying case that has a belt strap on it. Set of 2 Cotton Pillowcases Review

I have been using these pillow cases for about a month. I have the baby blue colored pillow cases. These pillow cases are offered in a very large array of colors as well. It states that they are 1000 thread count pillow cases. They are made from Egyptian silk saying they are 100% mercerized cotton woven sateen. I had the pleasure to try standard size pillow cases.


They claim these pillow cases to be high quality. I am not sure I would be able to give them a high quality rating. I will give them a very good quality. How I came to this, when I first opened up the package I pulled them out of the sleeve and then I had to trim off the excess strings from it being sewn together. I feel something that is labeled as high quality would not miss such a trivial fix. I under stand there may be 1/4 of an inch after being trimmed, but there were some as long as 6 inches still attached to my pillow cases.


The pillow cases are soft to the touch and comfortable to put your head on for sure. They are not the most soft 1000 count pillow cases I have had, but they are much better then your local Wal-Mart bottom shelf cases. To be honest to my touch they come across as more of a 400-600 thread count pillow case. This could be all on the type of cotton that is actually used in the various pillow cases I have used prior.


Upon first getting these pillow cases you will need to wash them, to make them feel much more soft then out of the package directly. To do this it is recommended to wash in cold water. Wash these with other colored cloths that are not going to bleed or stain the new pillow cases. It also states that if you are going to use bleach washing these that you do not use a chlorine bleach. Lastly when drying them make sure to have the setting to low heat. If you must, you can use a warm iron as well on these but only to a warm setting.


These pillow cases for standard size do barely fit a standard pillow in them. I have been using these pillow cases for about a month now. I have not seen them breaking down or any issues with the stitch work pulling out. So if you are in the market for some very good quality pillow cases, these pillow cases are not a bad choice at all to consider. Black Derby Hat (Unisex) Review

Well this is a new one on my part. I rarely pick up or mess with things like this. I like hats, so I figured this would be a cool one to add to the collection. My collection does not get worn so they can maintain their shape and color.


This hat was shipped to me from NJ Enterprise Group LLC from their site: http://www.funnypartyhats.com/ I went in to check out the site a little bit. I found they have many other things to offer beyond hats. They have masks, accessories, wigs, and, bandanas to mention a few things.


Now for the Derby hat that I picked up. It is not made with very good construction at all. It is basically a piece of cardboard with some felt glued to it. Not sure if that is what it is exactly but this is how it feels. It may be a party hat and will last a long time as long as you do not subject it to the elements like rain or snow. Try not to get it wet in anyway as a suggestion. Now as far as the form of the hat is concerned it is fairly close until you get to the brim of the hat. That was not formed in any manner near the picture and does change the appearance of the hat greatly. I have tried a little bit to reform it to make it look appropiate for what I think a Derby Hat looks like with little success. I have not tried to get aggresive with forming the brim because I do not want to take a chance on destroying the hat.





I can see where this hat can bring a lot of fun though. Halloween costume accessory for sure or any other type of costume party. I mean feel free to play out some Charlie Chaplin or maybe Wimpy and his hamburger fetish. Green/Brown Woodland Camo Ring Review

This is my second ring from this company currently. This camo ring from Antler Rings are built and made for those who enjoy and active lifestyle.
These rings are made of stainless steel. They are fairly heavy for their size which is a good indication that the ring will be very durable. The camo ring has a really nice pattern to the center band part. It is not so bright to take away from the luster of the stainless steel bands on both sides of it though.


Next comes the thoughts of it having a reaction to skin. To this day I have had no issue with my ring having a reaction and turning my skin green. I have worn it while showering, doing dishes, cooking, and swimming. It has not lost any of its brilliance and the center band has not been harmed.


This ring was given to my nephew. He is 17 and if anything can hold up to a teen boy for any length of time holds high praise with me. He wears his ring everywhere including lifting weights in school, sports activities, and generally on the run full time as any typical teen. When lifting weights daily and the direct abuse to the bars while lifting, this ring has shown no signs of wear or damage.

Power Inverter Review

As a ex-truck driver I have had my dealings with many inverters. Most of the time any inverter under a couple hundred dollars usually lack an performance expectations. I have had inverters that are designed to be hard wired in only, some that only have a plug in for lighter sockets, or maybe both in one unit. This unit offers three options to attach to your vehicle. First it has the ability to be wired directly. Next it offeres the use of a lighter plug in your vehicle. Lastly it has clips like those on a set of jumper cables to attach directly to the battery posts.


So I started putting this inverter to the test. I started off with an easy wattage load. To do this I plugged it into the lighter of the car and then hooked up my laptop to it and played around on my laptop for about 4 hours. After a couple hours into playing around on my laptop I plugged in my charger that attaches to USB and charged my Bluetooth headphones through the inverter. It had not drained my battery to the point of the safety feature included to warn if the battery is getting low. Now to the next step I used the wire adapters and I wired it in directly. Now I increased the load on the unit with a television and gaming system. My nephew and I played a video game for about 45 minutes or so. That got boring so I unhooked the game and hooked up the DVD player. I decided to watch the Two Towers for the rest of this test. Again, my battery was still holding up. Now for the last part of the test I attached it directly to the battery with the jumper cable ends. I then broke out my electric impact I carry to break the lugs loose on my truck. The inverter at this work load was having a bit of issues with my impact. It was to much draw to quick and was kicking in the safety and not letting the full charge across. So I went to other power tools that I had around the house. It had no problem running my drills, saws, and other hand held tools as long as it did not require a full blast on the pull of the trigger.

Now to use the X-Shade inverter is very simple for anyone even if you are not mechanically inclined. For starters the lighter plug is simple to attach to the inverter and plug it in. This requires the adapter included that has a red and black lead that go on the the screw panels. These are color coded so all you have to do is follow the color. Next is using it wired directly. This is very similar to the lighter plug but requires hooking it to the vehicle in a more perminant manner. Most Semi's have the same screw panels that the inverter has. So it is a matter of following the colors and attaching both ends correctly. The other way to attach the inverter is with the jumper cable ends. This attaches to the inverter in the same manner as the rest on the screw panels. From there it is putting the the cables on the correct leads of the battery. This is great if you need to work on your vehicle on the side of the road. The other really useful place for this is on the boat for powering small electronics while you are out on the lake.


Some other features that are nice about this unit is the built in fan to help keep the unit from over heating. Many units forget this concept and it tends to burn them out a lot faster then you hope. Having the quick screw panels makes it great for quick attachments and secure connections. Having the built in USB port on the inverter is a great addition so you can use the lighter plug and still be able to charge your phone, Bluetooth, or tablet type devices.

BPA Free Sports Water Bottle Review

I picked up a pair of these water bottles. They are unique to say the least. For starters they are a soft sided water bottle. They do prevent leaks and messes with this bottle. The way they are designed they do fall over easy so it is a good thing they are leak proof. These bottles also work out well durning a workout since  you can drink from it. If it falls over then it is really not a big deal.


I have noticed that if you fill the bottom couple of inches with water then put it in the freezer. This creates a very nice ice cube in the bottom and makes it much better for standing stability. Not to mention it keeps my water cold for a very long time.
The coolest feature of these water bottles is how they fold up to about 1/4 of its full expandable size. There is also a place to attach a d-clip so it can be added to a running belt and attached. There is also a silicone strap that you wrap around the folded up bottle to keep it small and compact for conservation of space when not in use.

Burger Press Review

This is a handy tool to have around the kitchen. It helps to make a more uniform patty to say the least. It comes in 3 parts. These parts are the lower plate, the burger lift, and the top press plate. When I ordered this Yumm's Burger Press it came with a downloadable recipe book as well.


How this press works is very simple. To start with you place the bottome tray that has some rubber stopper feet to help stop the bottom plate from sliding around. From there you put in the patty lift into the bottom press plate. From there you place the ground meat you desire onto the lift plate. Next you use the top press plate to push down on the meat. Once you have your patty formed you use the patty lift from the bottom plate. From there it is remove the patty from the lift plate and it is ready to cook. The greatest part of this press is how the meat stays together so much better when using the press.





The only thing I found that was kind of a pain is the top plate sticking to the meat from pressing and how it also sticks to the lift plate as well. Past that this press works great.
If you are looking to make pattys that are the same size and don't fall apart during cooking, I suggest looking into this burger press from Yumm's. I would like to thank Yumm's for sending me this burger press to try out and leave my opinion.
