Electronic Bug Zapper Review

Well this is an insect killing machine designed for indoor use. It is very light weight and a lot smaller then I had in my head for size. This is a stand alone unit or you can use the chain included for hanging.

Well to start with this is possibly the cheapest built bug zapper I have ever seen. The alloy this is made from is about as thick as a soda can. It feels very flimsy to touch and is really easy to bend. The wire screens are barely held in place with a couple of springs. However this unit does come with a 12 month replacement warranty so even if it is cheaply built it is covered for a year.

Next thing would be does the unit work. There is no simple answer to this. Yes it works on small insects that land directly on the light. If they buzz around the electrodes do nothing because they are to far apart from what I could see. If the insect is large like a moth it gets a nice tan and warmed up. If these bulbs are not the brightest in the area the bugs are not attracted to this zapper over a brighter light source. I did test this over night while the rest of the lights were off in the house. I did find a few bugs in the tray at the bottom in the morning.

This light zapper does not make a lot of noise while it is powered up. The zapper does not make the zapping noise a lot of bug zappers make. This zapper comes with 2 bulbs that are 10w so they do not use a ton of power while in use. The zapper is compact at 16x12x4 inches.

If you are looking for a bug zapper this one may be what you are after. It is light weight, compact, stand alone, and comes with a 12 month replacement warranty. I would like to thank Red Puppet for sending me this bug zapper to try out and share my opinion.
