Stereo Headphone Review

This is a set of head phones with a built in mic. They are over the ear and adjustable. The headphones are from Sowtech model number G2000. For a low budget prices set of head phones I am really impressed with how well they preform. As far as I know they only come blue in color.

The sound quality of the head phones I would rate as above average. It offers all of the ranges of sound, and all of the ranges of sound come in crisp and clear with this set of head phones. I went to about 70% of the max volume and did not hear any distortion with the head phones quality. I did not push the head phones any further because it was simply way to much volume for me to be comfortable with.

Now the padding areas of these head phones are very nice. To start with the padding across the head rest. It covers the majority of the inside of the head phones brackets. It is also a fairly firm padding. Having this padding is very nice because it means much less tangling in my hair and if I accidently bump the head phones it does not feel like some one smacked me with a 2x4. Now for the padding that goes around the ears and to the side of the head. This is a very soft padding. Which is great because I wear glasses and if it was a hard padding it would press in on the side bars of my glasses and be uncomfortable.

Now the side paddings that go around the ears provides very little resistance to sound outside of the ear muff. It only slightly lowers outside sound. They do not offer any noise reduction speakers to help mute the outside sounds either. I have had no problems hearing the incoming chatter or music even with out the noise reduction.

When it comes to the mic no one has complained with the quality of the sound on their end. I have tried these headphones out on Mumble, Ventrilo, and video chat. Anyone knows that if you are a gamer you need to hear and be heard for the best response times. Being in voice chats programs always makes for quicker responses then typing and reading.

Now for the inline controls of the head phones. One thing that is nice that the cord is braided which will imporve the life of the head phones. On the side of the control box there is a toggle switch for turning the mic on/off. On the surface there is a control dial to adjust the volume. This is a simple turn right or left to raise and lower the volume. This is the only thing with these head phones I do not like. It sits far enough down that if I turn my head it can drag along my shirt and adjust the volume. So there is the occasionaly blasting extremely loud shock that requires me to yank the head phones off of my head vigorously.

If you are looking for a very nice low budget set of head phones that offer crisp, clear, quality sound, and mic this is a set you need to consider. They are very comfortable with the added padding provided. The head phones also have the option of the standard two plug 3.5mm jacks color coated or a USB attachment. I would like to thank SOWTECH for sending me this set of gaming head phones to try out and share my opinion.
