This is a 4 sided stand up cheese grater. This grater also comes with a plastic container. This seems to be much more sturdy then most of the others I have seen on the market.
There are 3 different size cheese graters for shredded cheese. Depending on how thick or fine you want your shredded cheese is the side you use. The fourth side of the grater is a slicer. This will makes sliced cheese from a block of cheese for you.
The grater seems to be made of a thicker grade steel then most I have seen. This means it will last much longer. The metal is made from stainless steel which makes it easy to clean up and care. The handle at the top is a very comfortable fit for my hand. Most of the time it is difficult to hang on to because the handles on most are so small.
The added plastic container is a very cool addition. It has a lid that seals to the container making it where the cheese inside of it safe from food taste transfer from inside the fridge. With the lid removed you can set the container on the counter and the grater will sit directly on top of it. This makes it where you can catch your grated materials as you are doing the prep. This makes it easier on clean up as well because you do not have to wash your counter top or cutting board with this attached.
For cleaning this unit is super easy. It is stainless steel so some warm water, soap, and a dish cloth will take care of it. Be careful with your dish cloth because these are very sharp and will shred your cloth as well. Most of the time running straight hot water will do fine for getting the grater mostly clean where you only have to do limited cleaning with the soap and cloth. The material this grater is made from looks to be dishwasher safe, I have not seen any warnings about using or not using a dishwasher. I do not pay much attention to this since I do not have a automatic dishwasher.
If you are looking for a very sturdy built grater that can shred multiple grades of cheese, this is a great unit to pick up.
