Ohuhu Dual Focus Monocular Review

This is not a bad monocular. It is not the top of the line, and I have seen much worse. This monocular I would put at a mid quality piece. Upon ordering this monocular it came with a carrying bag, cleaning cloth, instructions manual, and the monocular.

To start with it is a 16x52 eye piece. This means it will magnify by 16x over a 52mm lense. It does work making things much easier to see from a pretty good distance. It does take some getting used to with the twisting of the 2 cambers to make it focus your view. I have found that it is much easier to work the monocular on a tripod. I have a small portable tripod that I can attach mine too. This makes it a much more stable for viewing as well. I can also use my tablet to take great pictures through this monocular as well. I mount it to the tripod and get my view I want. I then take the camera eye to the monocular and watch my screen for the picture to be how I want through the monocular and click to take the picture. I get a lot of wild life photos this way without disturbing nature at work. So I do not have to be in a hurrty to snap the pictures since I am not envading their area from to close.

Now for the monoculars durablitity and build. It appears to be fairly durable as far as the texture of the casing. However it is like any other lense viewing piece. If you drop it to hard or bang it to hard against things it will knock the alignment out of focus.  To help prevent some things like that they have attached a lanyard to the monocular that will fit around your neck incase you lose your grip the lanyard can catch the monocular. This lanyard is pretty cheap though and looks like it is only going to save it a few times before it will give way. The next part for protecting the monocular is the carrying bag. This has a belt hook on it so you can place it on your side for easy carrying and leaving your hands free to get to your destination.

Now the description says that it is water proof and I have yet to find any ratings on the monocular or packaging. So I would go with the concept that it is water resistant and not water proof. I would not try submerging it and leaving it because I can not find a levle that is acceptable. However the way it is made it is clear to see that it is water resistant and will be fine out in a rain storm or from any water that might get splashed on it.

The instructions manual is really a joke. It tells you how to use it and to use the cleaning cloth. There are not specifics on how to use it other then put it in on hand and turn the cambers. It also says to not take it apart because that can damage the unit. This is very true and will break the seals that make it water resistant as well. So do not take it apart. The other extra included in this monocular is a cleaning cloth. It is a very small micro fiber cloth. It is like any other micro fiber cloth as long as you take care of it, it works great and cleans the lenses nicely.

Over all it is not a bad unit to have when you are out and about and needing to see things from a great distance. I can see where this could be used by hunters in a deer stand looking for incoming creatures. I can see the bird watchers getting great use out of this monocular. I see where it can have an advantage at things like football games for those located in the nose bleed sections. I would like to thank Leesan and affiliates for sending me this monocular to try out and share my opinion.
